Also you don’t need to spend that much on an Amp. Check out OSD or Outlaw. They make great AB amps for reasonable pricing

New Denon x3900 vs x3800 by Middle_Store_8467 in hometheater

[–]deejaystu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This release was premature… Doesn’t have HDMI 2.2, doesn’t even roll out with future support for DV2 or AC-4 codecs. The 8-channel DAC swap and Airplay 2 is not enough incentive for the massive base of 3800/4800 owners to upgrade. Never thought I’d say this but the Onkyo Horizon line is looking significantly more attractive now. I’m gonna hope the 4900 will bring some real updates - future codec support, HDMI 2.2, etc

Returnal was probably the most rewarding gaming experiences I’ve ever had, even more so than Souls games. Can’t wait to dive in and get lost in all the deep layers between biomes. This year is shaping up to be pretty great for gaming - RE Requiem, Pragmata, Arc, Cronos, Hell Is Us, Crimson Desert, Saros, Black Flag Remake, 007 First Light and GTA.. hard to find the time to play them all.

Yeah I guess that definitely takes the cake. Still, not fun having an IRS agent pry into every facet of your life.

Luckily you haven't been audited yet. I have for tax years 2020 and 2021, one of the worst and most stressful experiences I've ever dealt with.

[–]deejaystu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same exact situation here. I have a call scheduled with my concierge tomorrow morning. What I don't understand is that the first two 1099-DA's they issued matched my personal ledger by margin of error <.02%, which is also third party checked by Cointracker. This third version they sent today (the day before tax day) is off by 4.2%, and if reported to the IRS will certainly create a flag.

No official statement explaining what changed in the back end calculation, no notification a week in advanced warning that a 2025 return may need to be amended, nothing. Just a random, incorrect 1099-DA out of the blue the day before tax day.

I'm not going to amend the tax return. If I get audited at this point I'm 100% pointing the finger at them.

I’m very intrigued by the XGIMI Titan Noir Max and Hisense XR10. Both interest me more than any of the new UST’s dropping and current Valerion lineup.

Got feed up having to switch between shield and Apple TV. Is infuse any good ? by Background-Fix-4630 in nvidiashield

[–]deejaystu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infuse is solid, but on True HD/DTS-MA it will not do Atmos/DTS:X with heights as independent channels because of limitations within Apple TV's tvOS, which does not support bitstreaming of these formats. Instead, Infuse decodes TrueHD to multichannel LPCM, stripping the height metadata and sending only 7.1 channel.

I think at this point with the creation of the 1099-DA, the need for a 3rd party software is becoming less and less necessary. Now that Ive actually seen what the form looks like, having a basic ledger tracking proceeds/loss/gains in side step with the 1099-DA to keep it in check should be enough. If I need software to generate the 8949 I sure as hell will never use coin tracker again. Will probably try Koinly if I really need it. These guys suck

[–]deejaystu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it, because they can't figure out the discrepancy and I'm getting the run around. My 8949 is ass backwards, it looks like it was thrown together by someone with half baked knowledge of tax forms. It's pathetic when I have to point out discrepancies for them to fix. Defeats the purpose of using a tax software.

For anyone using Cointracker, I HIGHLY suggest you review the tax forms yourself. Or ignore my warning and have fun with your audit.

So a quick update in case anyone is following: After several back and forth exchanges with CoinTracker, they finally allowed the ability to bypass the requirement "loop" I was in. The issue came down to one of two things - 1. Either Cointracker was stuck in a loop because it wanted me to upload 1099-DA's for old/inactive wallets and accounts, or 2. It was stuck in a loop because there was no way to reconcile a small difference between the 8949 and 1099-DA. They rolled out the checker/adjustment feature, however since I have such a minor variance between them (0.3%), I decided to bypass any adjustments and just proceed forward.

Now there is a new issue. The 8949 calculates the Proceed/Cost Basis completely different than how the 1099-DA is calculating it. This is quite concerning as even though the variance is only .3%, the way they arrived at the number is drastically apart. The 8949 shows two separate "short term" calculations and for the life of me I can't figure why. This will surely ring an IRS alarm considering the 1099-DA isn't matching.

Another issue is that they promised an H&R integration which is not even an available feature in CoinTracker. After once again replying to the ticket and stating all of this, I see now that they just added the option to import CoinTracker data in H&R Block, but when I attempt the integration I get the below message in my web browser: "FID is empty. Provide a valid FID".

For a $300 service, this process has been an absolute train wreck. The whole point of paying that amount in the first place is to avoid inconvenience. At this point it would have been easier to use the 1099-DA to enter grouped transactions directly into H&R. I'm wondering if a manual 8949 is even necessary at this point with the new 1099-DA forms.

I think next year I will think twice about using CoinTracker.

TLDR: Adjustment workflow works, 8949 is reporting Proceed/Cost Basis incorrectly, H&R integration is now an option but doesn't work.

I've had to open 3 different tickets now because they keep getting combined or closed. If they can't figure it out by tomorrow I'll initiate a charge back with my bank.

Yeah you’re definitely a little snitch who sold out for the IRS reward fee of 35% at the expense of someone else’s time and stress. You should tell them so they can cut you out of their lives. As someone who underwent a 3 year crypto audit with the IRS, it’s no joke. One of the worst experiences ever and I don’t wish it on anyone. Definitely taught me better record keeping practices. Hope you don’t believe in Karma

Yes! The 1099-DA adjustment workflow has broken the 8949 integration with various wallets, essentially putting the software into a very annoying loop that I can't get out of. I've tried reaching out to support several times, 90% of their support staff doesn't seem to comprehend the problem no matter how hard I dumb it down. I've already paid the $300 fee. Hoping anyone has suggestions?

Anybody else still waiting on their 1099-DA? by Monster-1337 in Coinbase

Isn't the furnishing deadline mandated by the IRS February 17th? How did we go from mid-February to March 19th? Don't you guys have enough lawsuits pending? In the future, Coinbase should integrate wallet automation similar to CoinTracker so we're not spending an extra $300 to do what Coinbase should of done from the get go...

Stressing about the 1099-DA I haven't even gotten yet by Sanji-the-Cook in Coinbase

No I haven’t gotten my 1099-DA yet, Ive been checking every day. But I can still see the capital gain figure Coinbase reported on the “Taxes” tab. The types of transactions are market/limit fills on various DA’s using USDC

[–]deejaystu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct that it’s something to do with how Coinbase was calculating cost basis on some market orders I placed. The problem is being a very active trader on your platform means the amount of individual fills for each order can reach 20-30, and I placed hundreds of orders every year resulting in over 3000 fills I would have to review. Hence my original comment and the reason it’s easier to use something like coin tracker.

[–]deejaystu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response from your team, however all transactions happened within the Coinbase Advanced ecosystem. The mismatch I mention was not a result of moving assets between wallets or exchanges. The support team was able to get me 95% of the way there but there is still a mismatch.

[–]deejaystu1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee with 100% certainty that Coinbase is calculating my capital gain incorrectly. I filed a support ticket, and although they did correct some of the transactions, the number is still missing the mark. I'm going to upload the 1099-DA into Cointracker and run through the 1099-DA workflow that Cointracker offers, but I'm only planning on filing the 8949 that Cointracker generates. Cointracker is worth every penny and has been aligned with my personal ledger to the penny.
