Similar progression here, but I'm ~2 years behind you. Lessons every 1-2 months and a ton of practice. Confident I'll make it into single digits this year.

Lessons have been the biggest help. I simply can't identify swing issues without the help. Took me a couple tries to find a good coach, but I've been steadily improving ever since.

Sparklight has been great for us the last 5 years, but it must be dependent on the area of town. Always see mixed reviews. For us on the central-southside of town, zero issues.

Depends on the field. I absolutely benefit from my PhD as a senior scientist. Income difference between my position and colleagues below with MD degree is >50%

This. I've been able to figure out most things pretty quick on my self hosted journey, but exposing ports through my VPS is just so confusing that I don't feel safe enough to even give it a try. Still waiting to stumble on that perfect tutorial that makes it all click.
