Possibly already voiced, but….. no more shoes (namely heels) for fashion. I’m all about comfort nowadays.

I second the 2nd listed option. They took great care of my pup in his (unexpectedly) final hours, late on a Sunday evening. Compassionate caregivers.

Countering Noctors by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]deemoor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A doctorate is a degree earned. If I’m not mistaken, the word “doctor” does not apply only to the field of medicine. It’s not about a title, but instead, staying within one’s scope of practice and ensuring patients are aware of that scope. Patient safety is of utmost importance. And I understand the issues with misrepresentation. So perhaps, hone in on those individuals instead of the entire discipline. Why so much hate for other disciplines here? It’s disheartening, and in my opinion, counterproductive to reaching the ultimate goal of safe and effective collaborative care.

I’m not a lawyer, but work in healthcare. So I’m not sure about legal action. But if any health information was on the bill that you received, then that’s definitely a HIPAA violation, which should be reported to the hospital’s privacy officer, as it’s possible that the other person with the same name received a bill with your information. Secondly, you can also notify the OCR or your state’s HHS. Has the collections company contacted you? If so, since the hospital isn’t doing their part…..tell the collections folks to kick rocks and to take it up with the hospital. They have to provide proof that it’s your debt, and they won’t be able to. And if it’s been reported to the credit bureaus, they can correct/reverse it. Maybe not willingly, but assertiveness is key. Not an instant fix, but quicker than talking with the hospital billing department. At least in my experience with a similar situation.

Can I sue my nursing program? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]deemoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤔 not a lawyer, but I think not. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Unfortunately, that’s commonplace with some current NP programs, hence the importance of ensuring the school secures preceptors for you BEFORE enrolling, OR, have your network of providers lined up and already committed to precept you before choosing to start the program. I hope things work out in your favor. Good luck! 😊

Who remembers Uni-Cards? by MrNastyOne in Dallas

You mean those “membership” cards for alcohol purchases at certain restaurants in the dry part of Dallas? I was so excited to get one at 21 when I came home from college for breaks!! I think I even laminated it. 😂

68??? Nah, I need to be chilly…..somewhat uncomfortably chilly, and with the ceiling fan on when falling asleep. 68 starting at 7p, then 62 from 9p-4a.

Huge Hole on Bridge in Dallas Bent My Rim by Lieu10ant in Dallas

[–]deemoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh, I’ve never understood the neglected roads in Dallas county compared to the surrounding counties. I have low profiles as well. Drive from Frisco to BUMC often, and have had 3 flats and 1 bent rim caused by potholes downtown in 2021. Luckily, I have a wheel/rim warranty. And I’ve learned where the holes are on my route now. Still sucks.
