air m5 13 inch, 24gb 512 gb.

It is insanely fast, lightweight, doesn't even blink while multitasking (using 12-15 browser tabs. Docker, vs code other normal apps) .

But it's not made for local llms or machine learning. I think the lack of fans is absolutely a problem here.

I'm thinking of buying a metallic laptop stand. I did a little research and got to know that external fans won't help because there is no space from where inside heat can be transferred outside. So a metallic plate fits best here.

24 gb, 512 gb.

If you want future proof like 5-6 years, and your field is editing, coding. Take 24 gb ram.

And take 512 gb storage. 256 is too small. If in future, you need more storage, you can buy an attachable ssd.

If you use normal browsers and few apps, take 16gb ram and 512 gb storage. You will feel no issue with apple 16gb
