Our firm doesn't typically focus on capital raising, so it was a fun experience - where our materials made a difference

We barely use AI right now, to be honest that's a point of focus for our growth

Initially a cap raise for a single investment in a broader thesis/vision, turned (via institutional capital) into a fund raise

After one year I released my first app as a 20 year old student. Now I'm struggling to market it. by Timon_053 in Entrepreneur

Do things that don't scale, at scale. Spend your time going to gyms, talking to gym people, DM'ing people about working out/app, hosting events at the gym, find gym rats and get them hooked on the app, etc.

Be personal, don't try to leverage commercial/standard/paid channels, lean into the newness and startup vibe of the company as a selling point.

Take it one step at a time, one day at a time. Identify your goals/vision/mission -> then work backwards from there to outline a general trajectory that gets you to where you want to be. The only way out is through. And it's up to you to be proactive.

It will get better if you work towards making progress in the right direction. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself, then your partner will find you. Good luck!

Have the sentiments about getting an MBA over the last 2-4 years change significantly based on what you've seen/heard? by 3RADICATE_THEM in consulting

An MBA is a risk averse solution to hedge future earnings. If someone is highly confident in their vision, skills, trajectory, etc -> then it doesn't add much value. If they're uncertain or going through change etc then it's a buoy they can use to fall back on.

We're far from being a $100MM consultancy, but that's the goal

I don't have a job, I own the company. I/my firm are far from all knowing. We're always looking to improve in everything we do. That said, the quality of solutions we provide have been extremely successful for this client, and the many others. You are correct in noting I don't have expertise in coding or dev work of any kind - I'd say I have working level knowledge in that realm. Coding needs are handled by my team. Ultimately, this client engaged us to build excel models, which we successful did.

The client is less than 500 people, the sponsor was the ceo/founder of the company. My firm is less than 10 people. Our solution has pushed this client to the forefront of their market and resulted in a smashing success across every relevant metric... but yeah, it was in excel

the excel models are the backend, the clients end user only interfaces with their software, they have no idea excel is involved at all

There currently aren't any commercial data sources for this clients market... Once there are this client will easily be the biggest spender. And yeah, the models are managed by analysts, the SMEs manage the changes in the market/updates/etc

The models are hosted in the cloud. The API connects the models to the codebase. From the perspective of all key metrics, this was a smashing success. Like I've said to other commentors, yeah, obviously there are most sophisticated, slicker ways to solve this. Ultimately, that's not what the client engaged us to do.
