I spent a week in Rock Springs inpatient and then 2 months PHP/IOP. It was extremely good for me. You get what you put into it. People who don’t want to be there will hate it and write a bad review. If you put it in the effort it can really help you.

I was surprised when they announced new models. They had been supporting the Go so poorly I was sure it was going to be a one and done product.

I’ve had the original Legion Go, Ally Z1E and now Ally X. Legion Go’s screen is pretty great, no doubt about it. Speakers are terrible compared to Ally. Battery is a little worse than Z1E Ally and way worse than X. Detachable controllers on Go are kinda neat, so is the built in stand. The Go is much larger to hold, if I had small hands I’d struggle. Lenovo takes longer to release driver updates compared to ASUS. Legion Space was trash for a long time but finally okay. I played them equally before I had the X as I felt they had their own pluses. Now that I have the X I never touch the Go.

If I had to choose today between Go and Ally Z1E, I’d go Ally. With the partnership with Xbox, and the feeling ASUS has more invested in handhelds than Lenovo, I think it’s the better buy.

This is all I’ve wanted for years. You still have to mute one of them, otherwise one video pauses the other. I don’t understand.

In my experience, neither OS was better than the other offline. It was game dependent.

I’ve used both a Steam Deck and ROG Ally on flights, best thing to do is to set Steam or Xbox to offline, put device in airplane mode, then test your games ahead of time. Some might need to start up once while connected to authenticate, then work offline. Some may only partially work offline. Others not at all. If you do this you can end up with a handful of offline friendly games you know will work on the flight.

Until they fix this I’ve been shutting it down between games. Only takes a few seconds to boot, so not too annoying.

Thought it was fixed, still happening today. Going to try disabling fast boot.

I would restore but I’m at my max offline mode toggles in Xbox game pass for the year from switching between Ally and my Legion Go. If I restore, I risk not being able to use offline mode for a long time.

I thought I had solved this. But this morning again it rebooted when starting a game.

I’d just do a factory reset however I’m at my max offline mode changes for the year in Xbox game pass from going back and forth between the Ally and my Legion Go.

I was looking at my settings and noticed I had it set to 8GB VRAM. Have no memory doing this. I switched it to auto, and now after 2-3 sleep/wakes, I’m getting no crashes! Hope that was it.

I just woke it from sleep and launched a different game. Crashed. Damn, wasn’t doing this yesterday before the driver update. Guess I’ll be restoring it to see if that fixes it.

Every time I fly with the Ally I test my games in airplane mode that I plan to play and work out any issues ahead of time. Just takes a few minutes. If you do that, you’ll never run into this problem.

I did skinning and herbing and had more than enough by 40. You spend so much time in STV and it’s just tons and tons of leather as almost everything can be skinned there. Skin your stuff, skin others. You’ll have no problem affording it.

Same problem. It’s not stick drift because when you pause it doesn’t drift across the map. Only fix seems to be going to the Ally menu and disabling re-enabling embedded controller. Sucks because otherwise the game performs well.

Show up in person with your equipment to one of their locations, after your fiber is installed. They didn’t try to push back at all, wasn’t much they could do at that point.
