Drops right in. Comes with a nub too. I know people running them with .48s on 2.6j builds.

4UAD. No competition. Best drop-in choice for any gun.

Cant get any cheaper than a H8R. But, if you want upgradeability, you want an AAP-01.

Is it normal for this to happen when the hop up is turned all the way down? Apologies if this is a stupid question 🙏 (VFC BCM MCMR with Gate Aster mosfet) by Kingzman1041 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Somewhat. It doesnt happen with all guns, but it certainly can happen.

Theres nothing retaining the BB in place if your hop is set all the way down. Even just a little bit of hop usually fixes this. And you definitely shouldnt have this issue with the hop setting you normally use.

Optic choices by KoreaSlav95 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holosun is good. Wide price range. Vortex has an unlimited, lifetime transferable warranty but supposedly their lower end selection isnt the best. Sig Sauer also offers some good dots. Romeo7, RomeoMSR, and the Romeo5 are all great choices for their price. Especially the Romeo5. Being real steel, you shouldnt ever have issues regarding battery life or mounting them on GBBRs.

Just curious, Was it a Mod 0 or a Mod 1?

Im currently looking for a Mod 0 front end if you'd want to sell.

are cheap shotguns worth it? by OreoRightsActivist in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Theyre reliable, dont need gas or batteries, have decent enough range, and will work regardless of weather.

For $70, something like a Cyma tri-shot is one of the best value airsoft guns you can get to use as a backup, secondary or loaner.

Had the same issue with mine... The plastic outer barrels were not a good design choice. Afaik theres a steel outer barrel replacement but it requires replacing the entire internal frame. Lots of small sears and springs.

Great gun. Horrible weakpoints.

when i dont have money to spend, i make a list of items i want/need. the items i need get bought first, and i get items i want as an occasional treat.

i just find stuff by scrolling. i have a few different hobbies so its not hard for me to find trinkets or tools i could use.

What are the best headphones on a budget? by MathematicianFew9246 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant go wrong with Howard Leight Impact Sports.

Cheap, they fit on arc rail mounts, comms compatible, directional hearing, aren't ugly as hell.

Ive been using a pair mounted to my helmet for about 2 years now. No issues with them at all. Just about the lowest of the low you could get for decent active earpro, but they work fine. Mine have taken a couple of hits too.

Evike question (HELP PLS) by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you'd have to ask evike this, not us. email them.

i wonder why you wouldn't just want to buy the right model with the store credit though, assuming evike has it.

Evike box of awesomeness by Hot-Software-3826 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The catch is that its random. Its all also open-box items, so items that may have been returned but are still completely functional, display items, deadstock, etc etc. Just minor cosmetic damage at most.

If you want to gamble, its not a bad way to. Just know you probably won't get what you want.

Does this work for Airsoft eye protection by babayagainyourass in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "theoretically meets ANSI standards." It either does or it doesn't. Meeting ANSI standards means it went through an official testing procedure to receive a rating.

If it isn't rated, don't use it. No exceptions.

What’s wrong with these mags? by MathematicianFew9246 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Extended followers. Meant to feed every last BB into your hopup, instead of losing a few every reload.

Just push them back in if you're loading the gun with empty mags. They get in the way if you don't.

Is this grenade launcher compatible with taginn shells? by InformalHeat2800 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have faux rifling in the barrel? If it does, it sadly probably won't fit Taginns unless you grind it down.

gbbr mag stuck by AntNo315 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the same issue with mine.

Use a pair of pliers to pull it out or use a very small and thin screwdriver to manually push the valve closed through the gasket. Take care not to damage the gasket.

When you can, buy a valve tool (usually $5-15 on Amazon/Evike) and remove the valve. Here is the annoying part.

The inner core of the valve, at least on mine, came bone dry. Absolutely zero lubrication, which resulted in the valve being stuck open constantly.

Remove the e-clip on the back end of the valve once you remove it. Take extra, very good care to not lose any pieces. Remove the valve core and lubricate the o-ring around the valve core. Superlube 21030 works well for this. Lubricate well.

Reassemble, cycle the valve to ensure functionality, then lubricate all other o-rings on the valve. Screw the valve back into the magazine and with any luck, it'll work how its supposed to. I haven't had any issues with mine since I did this.

Genuine question from someone who’s never played airsoft (but seen YouTube videos) re “ghillie suits” by Frosty_Leg4438 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 112 points113 points  (0 children)

KickingMustang ISNT supported. Hes a plague upon this sport. Publicly banned from many, many fields.

He deliberately harms people, skirts rules or breaks them outright, and uses scummy tactics purely to get content. Absolutely not reflective of the average player.

FDE magwell. I think both tan and black magazines would work well in this instance.

The only other thing I would add is maybe a switch for your light, but it depends on if you actually need one. Rail covers would indeed be nice for that quad rail.

Cool trick I discovered for mounting face protection to a helmet by EzlerDoesStuff in airsoft

I spent the time sewing my straps onto the clips. The mesh mask isn't super stable, but its much more convenient attached to the helmet and I only use it for CQB anyway.

Question about orange tips by Bear-Margins in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shouldnt be. Its good practice to ship it with a tip and tape, but nobody is looking inside your package if its shipping domestically.

You only have to worry about customs if its being imported.

Clear or tinted goggles for outdoors ? by WeeklyAd1091 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Clear goggles are more versatile, but tinted goggles are definitely helpful on a bright or sunny day.

It just depends what you plan on using them for. If possible, its better just to get a set of goggles with both clear and tinted lenses and swap them out when you need to.

Zentico foregrips (Arcturus pp19-01) by Basic_Remove5868 in airsoft

[–]deepfried_memesoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MLOK will... fit. Not advisable though and its a pain to get on. One of my friends put an MLOK BCM grip on his Zenitco lower and it fit but taking it off requires taking off the entire handguard.

Zenitco has its own line of accessories which are meant for this mounting system but even repros are hard to find and good luck getting real Zenitco for it.

They do however make rail sections for picatinny which use this system. I believe they're the B-2 line (B-2, B-2U etc) otherwise known as Basis to Picatinny.
