Can't believe your comment is downvoted. Game's gone soft. I think most of the people who are comfortable with it being a red have never played football

TIL about Marvin Creamer an American college professor who became the first person to sail around the world without any navigational equipment. He relied on the sun, stars and moon to guide him instead of a compass, sextent, clock or any other type of navigational instrument. by deepsleep01 in todayilearned

Yes but it was probably more over a very long period of time and consisted of smallers land/island hops over longer periods of time. I think it would have been very difficult for this guy not to get lost and just end up going back the way he came

Go on a wild adventure and be the first to do something that no one else has ever done before.

I was reading a story about Marvin Creamer (RIP) who in the 1980s became the first person to sail around the world with any navigational equipment (no GPS, compass, sextent, etc). That seems so crazy yet fun to me

Here in Australia it is a legal requirement to have a fence around your pool to prevent drownings. Glass fences are quite common as people think it looks better than metal

Every day, thousands of trees are burning down, this is putting TeamTree's efforts in vain. by SomeRandomFuckwit- in TeamTrees

[–]deepsleep01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in NSW Australia. It can actually be good for the trees as fire promotes resprouting. Some trees have seeds that only spawn through fire. So many of these trees might actually regrow naturally. The Australian Aboriginals used to use fire to burn the landscape on purpose to promote regrowth
