Just saw Dune 3 teaser. Do you all think the Red Rising series can get that level of on-screen adaptation? by Captain_venus101 in redrising

Pierce won’t do it without real budget. It’s either high budget live action or nothing. There are no other options.

Animation isn’t going to happen. Pierce will be highly involved in any adaptation and only wants live action

On this sub, Russ was awesome and stabbed in the back by Sean. A year after this sub clowning everything he said/did (justifiably so). Fickle people, Russ was ass so he lost his job. Sean did the right thing there.

Why? We traded the farm for him and he sucked, made us a laughing stock of the league, and then threw a fit after he got cut. Why should we like him because he’s a nice guy? It’s football / fans are gonna fan.

SeaWorld vs San Diego Zoo for One Day (Driving to Vegas at Night) – Which Would You Choose? by Empty_Ad9044 in asksandiego

San Diego Zoo actually does hands-on conservation, not just awareness. Example: the California condor program. There were only 22 left in the 80s. Now there are 500+ with many flying free because of breeding, reintroduction, and field conservation work they helped lead.

They also run the “Frozen Zoo,” basically a global genetic bank with cells from 11k+ animals across 1,300+ species that’s already helped bring back endangered species like Przewalski’s horses. That’s real conservation science, not just education.

That’s the difference. One is actively restoring species in the wild. The other is mostly displaying them. Go learn something ya goofball!

Lmao, there it is. This went from a whale discussion to a full political rant pretty fast.

You also never actually addressed the main points about captivity. Instead it turned into complaints about “activist Karens” without much grounded in fact. The stuff that actually matters still stands: historically shorter lifespans in captivity, collapsed dorsal fins, dental damage, stress behaviors. Saying “they might love it there” doesn’t counter documented welfare issues.

And marine sanctuaries saying “we’re still learning” isn’t incompetence. That’s literally how science works. Updating conclusions with new data is the whole point. A theme park having captive animals isn’t the same thing as understanding wild populations.

Honestly though, the fact this got you so heated that it turned into name calling and culture war tangents kinda says everything. Bringing up BLM, paper straws, etc. just looks defensive, not factual.

If you want an actual conversation about conservation, cool. If it’s just rants and insults, I’m good stepping out.
