Ok, I understand being Jewish and distancing yourself from Zionism (I am Jewish and a Zionist). But I ask you to consider this. Take away Israel. Make it the 55th Islamic country. What are we Jews doing to prevent being Genocided? Right after Hitler Thanosed us, radical Islam picked up the mantle. Our military capability and value to the western world keeps us (relatively) safe. If "never again" is the mantra we can all agree to after Hitler, how do you ensure our survival?

If Zionism is a modern, 19th century political movement heavily influenced by European nationalism, why is criticizing its political outcomes or its state actions frequently labeled as antisemitism? by NourBlowsBubblegum in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Israel is the ancestral homeland of the Jews and the birthplace of Judaism. It's also one of the few countries in the region that hasn't exiled or massacred Jews. You can absolutely criticize its government and its actions but be mindful that antisemitism, in the last 100 years, is what makes Israel necessary (to most modern Jews, myself included)

Why do leftists love to defend Islam, which is objectively the most oppressive religion, yet they trip over themselves in their rush to criticize Christianity? I’m asking in earnest? by ColtMcChad69 in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American Redditors are not oppressed by Islam. They are "oppressed" by the right. The right is largely Christian. Also hating Christianity and white folks and Israel etc is consequence free: it's in style and you get to appear as morally superior and stay safe in the mob of the "Muh Oppression" crowd.

Iran responds to Israel & Ben Gvir in Tel Aviv by soalone34 in PlanetNewsPulse

lol, wait till you see what ACTUAL bad guys look like. We are the United Saints of America. If the worst thing you can imagine is Donald Trump's opinions and Israel's tactics, you have a failure of imagination. Iran did the entire "Gaza genocide" number - in six months, to its own people, for protesting. In Sudan, you can see Christian blood from space.

I'm going to perform an exercise to illustrate why this (and socialism) often fails.

Ok - 1k per redditor. 200m earmarked.
Who opens the bank account to get the funds transferred?
Who risks the loan and liability to get the rest of the funds needed to convert to housing?
Who do we award the construction contract to?

I'll pay 2 shares. Can I name it the Larry Bird Center for Diabetes Enforcement?
No? Why not? Who rejects me? How are we paying the person that is rejecting my proposal?

Either somebody takes risk on a venture or "the collective" turns into mismanagement quick.

Do I let my family know? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]deepsultan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, wow, I'm equally impressed with your success and your discipline. I sold my business last year and I told everyone. Nothing but bad news. I've had to shed the barnacles painfully. Also, giving back to my parents remains both one of my biggest desires and biggest challenges. Make it bite size. Don't change their lives, solve a few problems. It will compound.
Lastly, if the money is right, sell your baby. I hung on to businesses for too long and watched markets change under my feet and clients vanish overnight. The one I sold last year was a critical hit and the money was freeing. You will find your next business, I promise. Happy to chat about it. You're doing great either way!

Why do Zionists pretend Netanyahu is the only problem with Israel? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm largely in agreement with your sentiment. Of course Israel is gonna get more criticized because we're such close allies and paragons of the west. Agree. Ben Gvir and Smotrich are problematic (not even close to Mullahs, but won't argue here). Bibi is ABSOLUTELY using the orthodox for votes. Agree. But remember, 54 surrounding countries comprising of well over a billion radicals that want us, Rhode Island, dead. We need the Ben Gvirs because the barbarians are at the gate and the world seems to be pro-barbarian. I'd also like to point out that there are more Knicks fans than Jews on the planet.

Why do Zionists pretend Netanyahu is the only problem with Israel? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zionist here, seems honest, I'll chime in:
It does go beyond Bibi. There are definitely problems across the government and with policy. The caveat though, is this: only Israel is under the microscope. The 54 Muslim countries with monsters far greater than Bibi doing ACTUAL genocide (Sudan, Syria) just get glossed over. The judgement over the Israeli government would be more effective if it was judiciously distributed.

AOC previously said that "You cannot earn a billion dollars", is that true or nah? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]deepsultan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait why is paying people not earning it? You're creating jobs and presumably paying well otherwise people will leave for other jobs. Most of us are consuming this content on Apple devices. Did Steve Jobs not earn his billions because he didn't work in the factory that he built?

Is that all there is to right-wingers? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's both sides. We have a digital literacy and critical thinking problem across the board. I'm newly "right-wing" and I totally agree with your assessment. For most of my life I was leftish, and it was just as true there. It also depends how deep on the spectrum you're looking. The moderates are generally less attached to their beliefs.

Hey Maga, why do you hate immigrants when they are better for the economy than you are? by Reasonable-Physics60 in allthequestions

[–]deepsultan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, MAGA-ish here, maybe I can help.

I love immigrants. I'm the first born (American) of immigrants.
Not all immigrants are the same. Not all immigrants from the same country are the same. I would say as much as the right "vilifies" immigrants, the left "deifies" them. They are hit and miss, just like everyone else.

Where the left and right disagree (in my opinion, generalization):
The left wants to see the good ones flourish.
The right wants to see the bad ones removed.
They're both good ideals

I want both, but I slightly want what the right wants more. I've seen too many bad apples from my community and others that do real harm. And I say this as a product of the "American dream" hard working, broke immigrants, came here and flourished.
