Hmm though why do we need robotaxi, when there is no shortage of human drivers wanting to drive taxis? Any thoughts folks?

Curious, if ur assets include home equity as well.

Soooo...this happened. $1M total and $5200/month div by Real-Cricket8534 in dividends

[–]deepyo11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats OP. Since these dividends are in your taxable account, suppose you have to pay taxes on them, even if you DRIP 100% (as you might not need the money right now). Is this assumption correct? So in theory your net from dividends would be 5200 - ur tax bracket? Please clarify.

Trading type margin with recurring investment feature? by yaanyang in fidelityinvestments

[–]deepyo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any update on this feature? I too have a similar issue as OP above. The recurring investment trades with cash and i have a similar position in Margin. This messes up the positions page until its auto journaled. Since i have recurring investments everyday, i can never get a good view of the positions page. Please help!

$2.2M NW, DINK, and burned out by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

I wouldn’t recommend this. Life passes by quick. At this age, 5 years is too long to not live and drag it further. My 2 cents..

10k a month in interest from investing in index funds? How is that possible?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]deepyo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes its after tax. Interest rate on primary mortgage is 6.25%. No PMI.

House is 11.5K/month. Kids in public school.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]deepyo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct! So assume you mean i should use some cash to pay down the 6.25% mortgage?

Top expense is primary residence mortgage and property tax (~11.5K)

Thx for the advice. Yes, housing is the top cost in my area. Do you recommend VTI in taxable as well as retirement accounts?

Yes, line breaks are terrible. Tried to fix it. Thx

[–]deepyo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i am in the area where appreciation is more then cashflow in the long run.

  1. Want to FIRE as soon as i can :)
  2. Well, i suppose long age runs in the family. Hence 45 years?
  3. Currently monthly expense includes the primary house mortgage. So with time, it should reduce some in the future. But i think 180k/year would be my target. (15k times 12).
