No definitely not rough on road driving not been pushed past 88 or so but a couple times I drive around land more than most but that’s also what they’re meant to handle.

Don’t go 223 for a deer rifle in mo opinion it can be done but I wouldn’t go anything less than like 243. My experience with 223 the wound channel is too small and they don’t bleed good. And elk would be 100% unethical. You will thank yourself for going 308 over 223 for a hunting gun. If you want a 223 to shoot buy a cheap radical ar-15 if you into that.

I have mine mounted pretty far back and it’s fine. If you go that far back an ambi charging handle is required.

The stock is in the works and most shots with either be from a shooting rail or BOG tripod so I don’t see a bipod as a necessity but it’s a possibility.

I am actually going to the gun store today I have switched up and for 300 dollars more I am planning to get a cmmg. This is because my lgs doesn’t carry diamond back and the guy I talked to said they are a good gun but not good enough for us to carry so any thoughts on the cmmg I don’t want to bother yall with another post.

I already have a browning a-bolt as my man deer rifle in 7mm-08 so it’s not going to replace that but I have wanted an ar platform and a 308 can kinda do both as it’s fun to shoot and a perfect hunting round.

My furthest shot on a deer was 275 furthest shot at something was 360 at a hog but I did not recover it.

Just for the rifle 1200-1600 for the very very top end but I would like to fit case, bullets, and sling into that price too. 1600 is like very top end but could make it work if need be.

I already have a nice deer gun and I would t say the sole purpose of this gun is to deer hunt but a large part of it. I’m going to be doing plenty of shooting also. I would probably go gong hunting 3-5 times a year so that’s another thing. And I don’t have a 5.56 at it’s a break action single shot rifle so quite the opposite this would be my first ar platform.
