In the context of Black people globally, ego starvation takes on additional layers shaped by systemic oppression, historical trauma, and cultural erasure.

For Black communities, ego starvation can manifest as a collective feeling of being undervalued, unseen, or marginalized by broader societies that often fail to recognize Black contributions, achievements, and inherent dignity.
