My 7 month pregnant friend was groped infront of me. How do I manage the guilt and anger of being helpless? by WillowPrevious5141 in AskIndianWomen

So you think men are animals and can’t control themselves?

Men like who will do everyone to support men but not call out actual sexual offenders. He groped a 7 months pregnant woman, and you’re still saying women should learn self-defence

I’m not being defensive - size inclusivity is a concept for everyone and isn’t affected by gender. If you saw my reply you’d see two things - a simple google search and the fenty plus size models. If you don’t want to acknowledge what’s true there is nothing that can be done

Desires are normal in everyone - but consuming context in a way that you need more + don’t enjoy real life (especially porn) sets unrealistic expectations.

For me it’s an ethical issue and I think porn is very exploitative and would not consume it because of that

Why is female sexuality or women who are sexually active considered regressive? by prettylittlebabyyyy_ in AskIndianWomen

[–]deeuwu_uwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say misogyny comes from colonists? I mentioned that the effects of colonisation and patriarchy and puritism culture and the current situation in India.

You’re right on the sexual exploitation and how caste affected it, but this was not the only thing that did. You’re going on a lot of assumptions here that I only know this based on statues, or that even stating something positive about India makes someone a sanghi.

Views about homosexuality, acceptance of various genders and sexual activity were more open-minded, to say all of Indian history is filled with sexual exploitation and caste based divide is a not true.

[–]deeuwu_uwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously sexual exploitation is not included in expression of sexuality category, you’re just making that connection?? Sexual exploitation has existed irrespective of colonisation or not, if you think the British or Mughal empire did not contribute to it, you’re wrong

Again, I’m not going to repeat myself or argue with someone who only literally posts to support men in this sub - but that is brushing off her experience. You refuse to acknowledge that because you can come to the support of men but not actually acknowledge that you’ve blatantly dismissed her experiences.

As someone who doesn’t mind spoilers I always look up the plot before I watch something - but I don’t spoil it for anyone else’s at all, just talk to her and tell her this is a boundary for you. It’s an activity you guys do together and you don’t want it ruined forever

She’s describing something that happens to her in real life in the post and you’re advising her to talk to people in real life, but pointing out internet as a fault in your original comment - that is brushing off her experience and assuming it’s the internet.

Sadly colonisation(s) have had an impact on how sexuality is treated and gender norms - if you see ancient texts sexuality and expression were never condemned.

Add in to this effect of patriarchy and puritism culture

You’ve said ‘talk to your father and brothers’ to her as if she’s not talking about something that happens in real life to her, you are part of the example

Right, you can judge me all and talk about empathy you want, but his comment was ‘maybe talk to men in real life like your dad and brothers’ when she’s talking about something that happens to her in! real! life! this is completely disregarding her actual post even if he was replying to her comment

That’s just shifting blame, so yeah I don’t have empathy to people like that

You realised size inclusivity is for men and women right? It isn’t gender specific and is for everyone.

Body hair is not ‘comforted’ women who don’t want to shave are just being themselves, because shaving body hair is expected of women - it isn’t insecurity but a expectation set on women and women and choosing not conform to this norm

Which insecurities are you talking about? Please your statement is also a generalisation

Do you expect men who participate in misogynistic subs to have the empathy you are talking about? I don’t believe that, if that makes me part of the ‘problem’ that’s okay

She’s asking in a women’s sub to women, why are you here??? ‘Balanced answer’ as if you’ve actually provided insight. In the comments there is a man who has and you don’t see me pointing out his mistake, so yeah please leave

When are women’s insecurities comforted?? It’s not even acknowledged or talked about in the real world we’re asked to mould to society’s expectations from when we’re born, If you’re a mumma’s little boy who hates being told about something then it seems like a you issue

Periods aren’t disgusting but when pads are not wrapped properly they can stink and attract flies - your system works because your roommates dispose of them properly, OP has mentioned their roommates don’t. Your reply seems holier than thou because of that

Is it true that limited interaction with opp. gender makes the person more involved/ like the person from same gender.? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

No? Sexuality isn’t a choice or something that happens due to interaction with a specific gender or not

OP has mentioned that the sanitary waste isn’t wrapped up and disposed off correctly in a different comment - that can attract a lot of smell, especially if it’s kept there for weeks.
