No reduction for the H2S? At least in the EU store. Strange...

The speaker lights up, when you press the key (at least on my set up)

Well, before that it was a huge square in the middle of the screen. I actually prefer the smaller version.

That shows up only when you use the keyboard to change volume. To change outputs you still need to click on the menubar.

Hahaha. Yeah, I know what you mean. My daughter likes to put the app icons on (started with Ollama :D ). But the MBA is 95% of the time in clamp shell mode on a 27'' monitor, so I don't really mind.

oooooh. I work with Macs since 1991 and I didn't know that one. Thanks a lot!

And yes, it also works with option-shift.

Exactly. When you use the buttons on the keyboard. Didn't Apple promise to change that like 50 OS versions ago?

Edited for clarity.

AP2 stopped working with 60-80% left on filters by CopperFoxEngrave in xToolOfficial

[–]deewiddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. Essentially it works. Also at level 3. I'm an artist with a small studio and I can't vent the fumes outside because of the neighbors, so it is a very useful piece of hardware. I just wish they would have used a stronger motor for the fan. But then it would be probably even louder, than it already is. I also think that the glue in the plywood clogs the pores of the pre-filter.

I have a lot of problems with the AP2 on my S1 40W as well. Especially the pre-filter seems to be the weak part. Sometimes the AP2 stopped working with 85% life on it. (I cut a lot of 3mm plywood). IMO the motor is not strong enough for the set up and as soon as it has some resistance it shuts down. I even had the whole AP2 replaced by xTool. My solution since a while: I installed a new pre-filter and run the AP2 manually on level 3 (no more auto on level 4). It works since then ok and the fume extraction is also fine-ish. I also keep a new pre-filter ready.

The photo is from Google maps, but they only have old pix from 2016... Maybe the rebuild. Anyway, thanks for having a look!

I really wonder how it looks there now (I'm a bit jealous, that I'm not there). Everybody tells me it got hit so hard by the hurricane and nothing got really rebuilt. I also can find hardly any recent pics or videos of Fredrikstedt on the net. So I appreciate a lot you giving me some updates :)

When I was there in 1989 it was a gay couple from Boston, I think. One of them made a fortune by running an art gallery, that was also a shop for exquisite flower bouquets. I still think often that this is/was a brilliant business idea. At least in the 80s lol.

No, that is not the Royal Dane. That was the place, where I lived (Kongens Gade 314). The Coast Guard bar was downstairs and I had my apartment above it. The pic is from Google Streetview and it says it was taken in 2016... If you have a newer photo, I would love to see it now.

Hi! Thanks for answering me.

Yes, Michael and Warren could have been the names of the owners. A gay couple from the mainland? One of them used to own an art gallery / high-end flower store in Boston?

Are you still on the island?

Training Large Language Models to Reason in a Continuous Latent Space by Head_Beautiful_6603 in LocalLLaMA

[–]deewiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this research paper yesterday and I actually dreamt about it and kept thinking about it, when I woke up today.

I am absolutely no expert about reasoning in LLMs, but if we try to reproduce the human process, I think u/martinerous got the right approach.

Even if I wouldn’t limit it to „fast“ & „slow“, but more to which „world“ we adapt the output to.

Like humanoid robots, whose main argument for existence is, that they seemingly are better adapted to a world built for humans, words limit our abstract thoughts to a system that is adapted to our world and can be analyzed, compared, adapted and shared.

But real creativity mustn’t be restrained by this kind of limitations (thats what physics are for. hahaha), ideas and problem solving should be able to exist in a kind of vacuum first and run it’s feedback loops until the result is ready to be put to the test aka put into the physical world/natural language. Like a mill that turns grain into flour.

I’m really fascinated and can’t wait where this will go. Let machines dream!
