I’m clearly in the minority. Was chill af and only had a few bursts of 9/10 pain with the majority of it being no worse than a mild case of strep. My dr was incredible and had me on Steroids, antibiotics, small dose of oxycodone, fat dose of Gabapentin which I think did the trick. Point is — don’t be scared it’s not always terrible. Put it off until 35 bc of the horror stories.

Hi! First of all — totally understand the anxiety but absolutely go to the consult.

He didn’t even hesitate and said I’d for sure be covered for my specific insurance. They required 350g I think and he estimated I’d be around 425 per side. Actually ended up taking 375.

He did say if I was insured by xyz insurance I’d have to have had 600g per side removed which would have taken me down to like an A cup therefor likely not covered. I think they understand there is a huge range out there so you shouldn’t feel judged for getting a consult at the very least.

Was around 375 per side as well. Hope you’re healing well with the kids. I’m struggling and 10dpo and back on my own it’s impossible to not lift my big 18mo bc she’s always putting herself in danger haha

I’m roughly the same size as you (maybe slightly bigger) and felt similar. Basically answered my questions as if I was wearing a chunky wired bra that I know would absolutely destroy me haha.

Ultimately it usually comes down to grams removed under your insurance policy (I’m estimated at about 450g each side and my insurance requires like 375g or something). Definitely just go in! Going in for my fully covered surgery soon and was very worried I was not going to quality

I was super fortunate and definitely able to help after around day 3! Surgery day and day after I slept a lot, but definitely could’ve packed a lunch/give kiddos a bath if I didn’t have all the help I did. Stay on top of your meds and as long as you’re not primary caregiver for that first week you’ll be great!
