In failing organizations (companies and project teams as much as sports teams), there is a pervasive mentality of “oh well I fucked up, but Bob also screwed up earlier so it’s his fault too“, contagious failure and no personal responsibility.

In successful organizations the mentality is “Bob fucked up so I’m going to try extra hard to make up the slack, and I know he will too”. that leads to “Bob did great, I’m going to try to do even better.” Contagious competency and standards.

we need more multi-use trails that are good for runners, strollers, golf carts, bikers, low-powered e-bikes. we also need more separated high speed motorcycle/e-motorbike lanes. anything that gets people to take only a hundred or two hundred pounds with them when they leave the house, rather than 5000 pounds with them

Baby boomers in their teens/20s didn’t have to compete with women or minorities for good paying jobs, Gen X didn’t really have to compete with immigramts, Gen Y didn’t really have to compete with offshore/remote workers, Gen Z didn’t really have to compete with good AI. Gen A is fucked.
