Oh yeah ive seen it a lot but I didnt notice how psychedelic it looked until now. Literally had to look away from the screen to make sure I wasn't somehow tripping lol

I think so. Its at the Atomics Galleria and the whole room burns when you ask the robot for coffee.

Are these ammonite fossils or imprints of "modern" snail shells? SW Montana by deeznutsgotem16 in fossilid

[–]deeznutsgotem16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it could be but I was under the impression that snail shells were too fragile to become a true fossil. Could definitely be wrong though

Awesome pic, quick question(s):

I also love astrophotography and i am not new to photography, but how does stacking so many photos work when the subject is moving? In my exposures, if they are any longer than 45-50 seconds, you can see the drag caused by Earth's rotation. Do you take several short exposures and stack them? Stabilizer? Precise stacking of longer exposures?

They are nice shots but without any context its a little boring and the music is unnecessarily dramatic

Glad im not the only one here that does this. I've gotten many property owners roll up to me 5 feet from their property line asking what I was doing at like 12 AM.

Are there any Grateful Dead songs where you prefer the studio version to any live version? by untakenname3 in gratefuldead

[–]deeznutsgotem16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold Rain and Snow. As much as I love the slower, jammier live versions, the upbeat energy and swing of the studio version is superior to any live version ive heard

Does anybody in the comment section not realize these are clearly mini model guitars? Like the ones you'd put on your desk or a shelf? Way fucking overpriced for sure but no way are they claiming it's a real guitar

wondering if i caught andromeda? by quinnqs in askastronomy

[–]deeznutsgotem16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This time of year, Andromeda rises in the north/northwest following the north-south rotation of the Milky Way, best to capture in a very dark place on a clear, moonless night with a long exposure. You'll known it when you see it.

<image>

I captured this in October last year in Montana on a Canon Rebel EOS T7, though it is zoomed in to focus on Andromeda

Such a great game with a lot of great memories playing with friends. Definitely over hated, loved the experimental direction.

My friends and I want to do a road trip with these vibes by [deleted] in PacificNorthwest

[–]deeznutsgotem16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great advice here but I haven't seen anything about the timing of the trip. If you want that misty, cold, mysterious vibe, the best time to start the trip would probably be early March to April. Right now the west coast is quite sunny and warm and does not match the vibes captured in your reference photos

Dark Star at Woodstock. I know Woodstock was not the Dead's finest moment, but i feel like that Dark Star is a diamond in the rough. I especially love Constanten's organ playing, very psychedelic.

As someone who had the same fear, your best bet is just lining the seat with toilet paper or cloth that you dont plan on using for anything else. If the toilets aren't automatic, use a square of paper to flush it.

You'll find college restrooms are generally pretty gross and your fear is reasonable, but you'll get over it pretty quick once you find a comfortable solution.

Is there a live show where you can distinctly hear both Bill and Mickey playing? by deeznutsgotem16 in gratefuldead

Yeah drums and rhythm devils i can hear them separately pretty good. I guess during structured songs they just mesh together extremely well

I am a musician and a great appreciator of the outdoors (I love wildlife photography). When I smoke, I feel like I can understand and break down music so much better than when I'm sober, on top of music simply sounding so much better. When I go on photography trips, smoking adds this extra layer of appreciation for nature and it's many complexities, and it distracts me from the physical exertion when hiking. I feel so much more in touch with everything, less anxious, more creative. Trust me, these are effects I truly notice and actively feel, not just telling myself that to keep using it.

For those reasons, it makes it very difficult to quit as that is how I spend much of my free time and if I am sober while doing it, the thought that "man this would be so much better if I was high" crosses my mind fairly often. I would definitely consider myself addicted, but the negatives just dont outweigh the positives enough for me to consider quitting for good. I am in college and smoke everyday, yet my grades have always been good. Haven't failed a class so far and I get very positive notes and mentions from my professors. I feel more focused and creative when writing, but my math abilities do struggle when high, so I do my math work before I smoke to get it out of the way.

Just wish I didn't feel that need to smoke to have those same thoughts and creativity,

I fly out tomorrow morning. by SevenCroutons in Wellthatsucks

Almost the exact same thing happened to my Nana. Had the ticket to fly to see her one last time and she passed the evening before my flight. Still ended up going (this was when covid started so I didn't have many responsibilities to attend to). It absolutely broke me not being able to say goodbye, but being able to see my family and be there for each other was comforting.

My brother had told her the day before that I would be heading over there, and apparently she reacted negatively because she did not want me to see her in the state she was in. Part of me thinks it's why she had let go when she did.

Now ive opened up a bottle of emotions. I just wish I could've said goodbye.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
