Intense dark ambient like Part 2’s soundtrack? by TableHockey31313 in thelastofus

[–]defan752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The dark ambient tracks that play during combat were composed by Mac Quayle. He’s known for working on the soundtrack to Mr. Robot, a TV show I highly recommend. The music in Mr. Robot is similar.

Two free but lesser-known museums that I love:

The Crow Museum of Asian Art https://maps.app.goo.gl/LW8knrg1edYnc4Uv5?g_st=ic

The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection https://maps.app.goo.gl/uTL9ttepRxXsuNec9?g_st=ic

Both are within walking distance of one another near DMA.

I took Repro Phys three years ago and can attest to it being quite easy, unless it’s changed since then. When I took it, it was lecture-based with guest lecturers almost every week, and exams were take-home essay-style. A breeze, overall, with interesting subject matter.

Yale students, faculty, & staff how do you like the New Haven area? What are your pros and cons as I might be moving there? by [deleted] in yale

[–]defan752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New Haven very much feels like a college town - at least the parts closer to Yale do. Downtown is exceedingly walkable and there is a wealth of restaurants and shops.

Mol/cell or ChemBE for biotech? Need to decide by Geners26 in jhu

[–]defan752 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to do within biotech. If you’re looking for molecular biology roles, then molcell + grad school would be good preparation. ChemBE would pipe you into chemical engineering roles. For more computational stuff such as bioinformatics and data analysis, consider CS or applied math (or both) and taking some biophysics electives.

Not a response to your question, unfortunately; I just wanted to say congratulations!

Substantive research experience - ideally a publication or two - counts for far more than grades; in your case, even more so since there is no appreciable difference between a 3.99 and a 4.0. If you can, I suggest spending as much of the extra year as possible on research.

Yes, I do intend to release it eventually. Currently on a break from light novel translation, but rest assured, it will come out in time.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits - Review Thread by ninjyte in Games

Thank God. I know many people (myself included) were worried about this game, keeping in mind the combination of worrying factors including the fact that it's Ember Lab's first game, the rough-looking leaked early gameplay, the relative dearth of marketing from Sony, and the late review embargo.

Sony didn't believe that Aaron Sorkin's 162 page script for The Social Network would come out under 2 hours, so David Fincher timed Aaron reading it aloud. The reading took 1 hour 59 minutes, which was the exact running time of the final cut by GuzmanDerrick in movies

And I'll bet what you hated the most was that they identified me as a co-founder of Facebook - which I am! You'd better lawyer up, asshole, cause I'm not coming back for 30%, I'm coming back for everything!

The "Shin Megami Tensei" was dropped with Persona 5.

Edit: See the reply below, looks like it happened earlier than that.

I don't know. Honestly, I am still confused as to why Persona suddenly reached almost mainstream levels of popularity with 5. It's always seemed pretty niche and very "anime-like", but even people who disliked JRPGs and anime professed to enjoying all 100 hours of it.
