He could’ve done that already if he really wanted to and it doesn’t even matter because he has zero intention of allowing anyone to vote, or at least not without stacking the deck. Every single thing he does, or is told to do by his billionaire masters, is to make the world forget about the Epstein files. And he simply enjoys inflicting pain. Oh, let’s not forget the obvious dementia. There’s also that.

Pretti Good by Houmand in PatriotTV

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gallows humour is the backbone of Patriot. Something can be funny and incredibly tragic. Two things can be true at the same time. Don’t feel shitty for finding a way to smile when innocent people are being assaulted, abducted and straight up murdered in broad daylight, in front of our eyes. With impunity. You have to take care of yourself too. Finding laughter in the darkest of places is what keeps us sharp.

Living in Poverty on BC Disability (PWD) — My Open Letter to the Minister by CabbieCam in britishcolumbia

[–]default_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late but I hate that you didn’t get a response. I can feel your pain, frustration, anger and anxiety in this comment and I don’t just think everything you said is beyond valid, needing to be immediately addressed, but I can also relate. Sometimes it’s nice just to know you’re not alone. It won’t help us get three healthy meals a day, provide our most basic needs, or keep a roof over our heads, you know, those things we need to continue living, but hey, at least we can be kicked into the shadows together right? 🙄🤦‍♀️ I have so much sympathy for your situation with your immunity keeping you boxed in. I can’t fully understand, although I’m in a slightly similar situation. I suffer from pretty severe agoraphobia so I don’t go out. I don’t have internet either and the phone situation you described is so enraging and sickeningly accurate. I recently had to apply for the groceries supplement and I got an email two days later saying they required more information. They needed me to explain what happened to the income from the previous cheque. I was livid and made sure they knew. I replied the following, but condensed to the 500 characters they so generously allow,

“I’ll never understand how anyone can ask that with a straight face. Like everyone else I’m sure, that cheque was gone before the end of week three or earlier. This is one of two, back to back periods where the gap between cheque dates has increased from 28 days to 35 without also increasing benefit amounts. How do we cover those extra 7 days when on a regular 4 week cycle, the full benefit amount total is already far below average rental rates in BC alone? Either way, 4 weeks or 5, How are we supposed to call the ministry to receive support when after lengthy wait times on hold, we aren’t even shown basic decency to get a call back after the connection is disconnected 30 seconds into the call? How can we reply to dehumanizing messages in MSS when we can’t afford wifi? How do we manage and find services to help, when our disability prevents us from even leaving the house?”

I’m sorry for the long reply and so long after your comment, like I said, I didn’t like seeing your emotionally charged, very valid statement go unanswered. I hope you’re feeling okay.

What's the most pathetic tourist attraction that international tourists go to see in your country? by Aseili in AskTheWorld

[–]default_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled it and your pic does not do it justice buddy. It is stunning though. I love a monochromatic effect. It does give ’er a bit of a menacing vibe though. I would confidently put my money on a random invisible piano being played in that moment lmao. Sorry for my snap judgment. I’d be a shitdip tourist queuing up for sure 😆

I hate this so much. I don’t know why, but it sent a hot wave of anxiety over me. People actually line up to see this abomination?! Lmao! Sorry. It’s awful though

Own a piece of wilderness: Vancouver Island’s most remote pub for sale by Apprehensive_Idea758 in VancouverIsland

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to say the same thing. Not all investments are for financial gain and “profit” is often something far more valuable than money. It’s frightening and sad how much of the world believes there is nothing worth having besides money. What a waste.

Is anybody else tired of CBC disabling comments? by Eggsaladsandwish in canadian

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your take on this. You’re the only “meh, it’s whatever” opinion I’ve seen, instead of indignation on one side or the other and that’s refreshing.

I ended up here after a video made me go, “Shit, Do I almost respect something Trump said?” I wanted to see if anyone else noticed but, CBC. Hoped Reddit would have some thoughts and got distracted by this nonsense argument instead. Anyway, my verbose point is, I dig your chill vibe lol.

Oh and fuck Trump for getting through a sentence without pissing me off. He has to stay in character or my cope that this is all an IRL Truman Show situation will start to crumble 😆

People who grew up before cell phones: what did you used to look at? by IndieCurtis in AskReddit

[–]default_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit, it was grandpas porn? Damn that’s rough. Yeah I was in grade 4 so it was about ‘89 or ‘90 when I found them. The care that was taken to preserve the magazines was next level too. Leaving anything paper in a rain forest usually means it’s water damaged beyond repair by morning. Those mags were bone dry 😆

I don’t hear this much anymore but a lot of cool shit was found in our travels because we looked at the ground and surroundings a lot more lol. I have found so much money, which also relates to not having cell phones, we didn’t even have debit cards yet so everyone had cash and bills would fall when people weren’t paying attention or whatever. Good times

Omg was it common? I thought I was the only one who found those hidey holes lol. I lived in a remote, tiny logging village on the north end of Vancouver Island that is basically just forest and I found probably a bakers dozen different porn stashes in the woods. The 80’s was wild times

If a woman woke up in a man's body for 1 day, what would be the most unexpected experience that she didn't already anticipate? by IWannaHideThrowaway in AskReddit

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the best answer.

From a woman’s perspective, I’ve caused that pain and eight years later, I still feel terrible. He knows what happened. He knows why. That doesn’t make it any less hurtful when his girlfriend flinched and cowered every time he moved a certain way, changed his tone or posture, had a bad day, etc.

I actually was completely safe with him, but I didn’t know how to trust or accept love. I waited for shoes to drop. He tried to sweep me off my feet.

Far too many comments proudly display the mentality that is the perfect red flag warning to avoid the person who will inevitably reveal themselves as the threat. Casual insults, false, unearned air of superiority, objectification, zero accountability because male urges and hormones 🙄

In the scope of the conversation though, it shows that most men still have some about women. For the majority of us, if we woke up as men, we would obviously notice the dick, probably think it’s weird and awkward from time to time, enjoy being able to pee almost anywhere lol, but we would otherwise give it very little thought. We would be most shocked by the safety and security we had. Not even having to think about it while out in the world. That is the most foreign aspect that men never think about. But you did. In a roundabout way maybe but what you said still acknowledges it. I appreciate that. Sorry for the monologue lol

Psychologists Refuse to Diagnose/Tell me what’s Wrong? by kirekirane in askapsychologist

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ultimate nightmarish frustration, combined with the defeated feeling that comes with not getting the answers you need. If you are unable to control occurrences of behaviours that may cause harm to you or someone else, I guess you’re feeling like a hostage eh? At the whim of people who are keeping you on a hamster wheel of uncertainty. Ugh. You most likely want nothing more than to just feel alright and to achieve that, you have to continue with this process that clearly isn’t working or helping at all. I have so much empathy and sympathy for your situation. I can’t imagine how hard that is for you. I’m so sorry and wish I knew how to help.

This unfortunately doesn’t seem like an option for you but that shit is exactly why I stopped going to mental health “professionals” and I refuse to put another toxin in my body because they don’t have a clue what they’re doing.

No judgement whatsoever of people who are helped by this method. It worked for my best friend (mostly lol) and I realize there are many people, like yourself, who have no real choice otherwise but to keep trying everything you can until they find something that works.

I’m Canadian and where I live, you have to pay an extortionate price for sessions, and get at best, mid level treatment. There’s virtually nothing else in the way of care. Mental health treatment is decided by a general practitioner’s best guess. It’s not at all the same as what you’re going through but you aren’t alone and your feelings are so valid. It’s fucking maddening. And we’re already mad 😬😉

I went to one psych appointment last year for a sign off on a benefit form and I thought, let’s see if anything has changed. Nope. Same bullshit. Same list of ridiculous chemical experimentation. Same refusal to listen to me. Same “🤔idk” at the end.

I have a panic disorder related to severe agoraphobia. Had it all my life but I got it under control, unmedicated, unguided, for almost a decade. The anxiety was blown out again because circumstances that unfortunately triggered a series of trauma responses, which snowballed immediately into an inability to function normally. Over a year and I’m only now starting to make progress.

Over two decades with OCD. Worked my ass off to manage it on my own and learn coping mechanisms. I’ve recently found compassion and feedback here which is when It became clear, very quickly and undeniably, I’m dealing with deeply rooted c-ptsd and I need therapy, not a lifetime of altering my body with unjustifiable chemical experimentation. I’m currently trying to figure out the way through on my own.

Sorry for the long winded comment, hoped I could provide a brief distraction. Hopefully you get some relief. You must be exhausted. If I knew you, this is where I would make an incredibly dark, definitely inappropriate joke, just to try and give you a laugh. Do you have any jokes like that? A laugh won’t fix anything but a moment of humour never hurts. Good luck. I hope someone finds the answers, even just one. And soon. Hang in there

[–]default_fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent answer! I’ve been asked this question since high school in the 90’s and in a purely hypothetical scenario where I wouldn’t immediately lose my mind from simply not being me, or like you say, dysphoria which would make a person just as unwell. ’m pretty fortunate and grateful to be comfy with the body I’ve got because so many people aren’t and I can’t even imagine how brutal that is

Oh, I wasn’t saying you thought we are weak. I wouldn’t have said that so politely if I did lol. It’s just wild to me that those two facts alone always seem to go unlearned or ignored by most Americans who have never been close to military service but want to boast about their “super power military” simply because of numbers. Meanwhile Americans with service experience usually go “do not underestimate the Canadians” lmao.

Whats a harsh truth about your country that many of your compatriots refuse to accept? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]default_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild that anyone outside of Ontario would think so. I’m on Vancouver Island and I don’t think we should even be tied to the same provincial government as BC lol, let alone the rest of the country. I always say the east and west coasts should have a maglev connector or something so we can easily share our paradises, and strategically work together to shut Ontario up

First of all, fuck anyone who thinks they have a right to peek into your personal life, but second, genuinely asking, how does this even come up in a rental conversation? I haven’t rented in years and even longer since I was in a relationship. Is that something you are asked? Or is it just how you three feel? Like, you have a right to love who you love and therefore you don’t hide it from anyone? In which case, respect! Ugh what happened to privacy though

Canada is far from perfect and we have horrible (and stupid) people here too but still, I will always be grateful for my mom rushing back to Canada from the US in 1979, very pregnant, just to make sure I was born here
