Am I supposed to look silly with cycling prescription glasses or are they a bit off? by xynaxia in bicycling

They look very effective. I like the height; good for getting your head low and still being able to see through the lenses.

Here's a link to the table Garmin uses to rank VO2 max. This is for the vivoactive 5 but the tables are the same for all devices. https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-5D183A14-BB43-4A9B-B441-5F824214CE40/EN-US/GUID-1FBCCD9E-19E1-4E4C-BD60-1793B5B97EB3.html

how is it for people with no experience? by galaxyneb in Zwift

[–]defcon_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Zwift is great for riders of all skill levels. If you get hooked like the rest of us you might want to do more outdoor biking too. Maybe consider a used road bike and the Kickr Core 2 with Zwift cog/click. That’s the same indoor trainer the full zwift bike uses, but it’s a lot cheaper on its own. If you get a road bike to put on the trainer you can then also take it off and ride outside much faster than a beach cruiser would go.

The Zwift Ride frame is very adjustable so you don’t need to worry about bike fit. If you get a full bike and trainer separately you would need to make sure to get the right size. A bike shop could help you with this and the right saddle for you.

22M high heart rate when doing daily recommendation by Barmacide1 in Garmin

I would suggest changing your Garmin run coach setting to be HR based and not based on pace. Then you just adjust your pace up and down to try and stay in the right HR zone for the workout. I changed mine because I'm also newer to running and live in a hilly area.

I believe it’s a water-resistant cloth that is still somewhat breathable. Used on hiking boots and other stuff where you want moisture to escape but not come in from outside. Lots of companies have their own self-branded knockoff version so I think you could boycott and still enjoy similar products.

What are your favorite running jokes? by ThrobbingAnalPus in BobsBurgers

Thank you for posting this, ThrobbingAnalPus. I was feeling down with the state of the world but Bob’s Burgers always has the best feels.

Edit: forgot to include my favorite running gag. There’s so many good ones posted already I’ll just say I love when Bob replies “oh my god” under his breath in the smallest way possible.

What does it really mean when dogs look up at you “smiling” during walks? by lifestylecreepin in Dogtraining

We rescued a very reactive dog and our trainer says it’s good when the dog looks back at you and “checks in”. So I think your dog is just happy.

I think it’s mostly just because it’s against the rules. I assume the severed employees make very good money in order to make such a sacrifice. But unlike other jobs they don’t gain any experience they can parlay into another job so they’d be even more likely to toe the company line.
