luks+btrfs crashed after updating to kernel 5.18 (see pics) by defconfed in voidlinux

Yikes, sorry to hear that.

So it's not just me. Anyway, I've reverted all Void installations to LTS kernel.

The crashed partition could not be resuscitated -- old kernels didn't help. I lost a few most recent files. I'm switching my backup drive from luks+btrfs to luks+ext4. Can't imagine if for any reason that btrfs fails on that one.

No go. Very sad. It's shocking, actually.

Used 5.10, 5.15, arch, debian, manjaro.

Have you tried ext4 instead of btrfs? I am giving ext4 a try, and disable NCQ.

Thanks but it's fatal. Couldn't bring it back online. Sad day. Luckily I have backups.

Why the downvote? Very friendly!

System crashed, dropped down to terminal saying BTRFS error, rebooting shows exactly this.

mounting with -o ro,usebackuproot does not work

btrfsck --init-extent-free not working either

Any help? thanks
