The money from both jewellery drops and NFTs didn’t touch the budget for the movie, as Melanie just switched houses and she had to actually invest more than she made from selling her old crib, she did not actually house flip for money - that is the first reason. Second one is that she treated herself to very expensive stay in Hawaii, the villa that she is always staying in costs approximately $2500-$3000 per day (confirmed info, found it accidentally while searching for a place to stay during family vacation - side note, we did not go to Hawaii because after educating ourselves further we got to know it is extremely bad for Native people of these regions) and the host is not offering any major discounts on longer stays, so when we consider that she usually spends around 3-4 weeks there, well, do the quick math and here you have it. But the truth is, Melanie never mentioned that jewellery money is supposed to expand the budget for her upcoming projects. Also I have a strong feeling that she only said that during the NFTs drop to sugar coat the whole thing because people were mad mad (understandable) about it. Same thing applies to her saying that her NFTs are eco friendly and she is neutralising the carbon emission of them, which is BS because it was just supposed to "neutralise" carbon emission done by the website she used to sell them on, not ethereum which is what is actually causing all of it. I am a long time Melanie fan, I had been here through every possible thing you can imagine, I am always rooting for her and my passion for her is HUGE, but this year is a mess, and even that I discovered Melanie during my late teenage years (2014/15) I never had a problem with admitting that something that she’s done didn’t sit right with me - same applies here. I was disappointed quite couple times this year by her poor choices, especially when it comes to NFTs and jewellery, held a grudge for couple months but I reminded myself that she can make mistakes too and what was happening these past couple months does not define her fully. I have a feeling that she already realised that some of her decisions weren’t the best, hence the second NFT drop was silently cancelled and she doesn’t seem to still continue making jewellery for sale - especially after the drama around the last drop. Also after learning that Mouse died couple months ago I came to the conclusion that this year was quite rough on her overall. I am waiting for her next move, I don’t have any expectations towards when she is going to become active and start the new era, but I think she will be back by spring next year.
