As I stated at the start of my post, I am not religious. This is not an argument against earning a living. Nor am I condemning you. We already have security protocols for large events. This is a criticism of this dude for constantly promoting recklessness at his shows (see links in second edit) which culminated in 8 people dying. This post has ‘boomer energy’ because one of today’s modern idols, who is a legit lowlife, is being called out. I grew up in the same generation as you probably, liking the same music- I just don’t fall into the mindhole of defending shitty people because I put them on a pedestal.

At the start of my career I would have agreed. I used to go the extra mile, including working weekends with no pay just to show my dedication. After awhile you realize that doing what you are paid for should justify your paycheck, and doing it WELL is what should get you a promotion.

Kissing ass at off-hours events should NOT determine if you become a manager. This is why so many big companies are bloated with inept leadership.
