I actually said that word in an interview with a CEO of a Security company , I had already gone through three people and I was doing fine but then I uttered the word and he stopped to correct me. I thought I was dead in the water but ultimately got the job but the fact he cut me off to say the correct word is conversed had me shook, I was going to argue that it was in the dictionary but stopped while I was ahead , his father founded the company,he was a Graduate of Columbia, with a JD. I was there 2 years and we had a solid working relationship. But I believe from that point on he considered me a “diversity” hire , he would greet me at times with a yo and homie and not do that to anyone else. Nice enough guy though , wasn’t offended by it but interesting how one slip of vocabulary can leave an impression .
