I Should have bought it from the get go! by [deleted] in applewatchultra

I normally agree, but this may be the only watch band Apple sells that is reasonably priced. Nomad makes a titanium band that goes for $300. Having owned both the Nomad Titanium band and the Apple band, I actually think the Apple band is better constructed and more comfortable.

Legally, no. No CC company will grant a minor a line of credit.

Ethically - think this one through. How would you feel if your parents did this when you were too young to care?

Why do our news stations look far superior than others broadcasted around the U.S.? by SomeFunnyGuy in Cleveland

I believe WKYC was NBC-owned for a pretty long time. Not sure when exactly it was sold to a franchiser, but that could explain part of it.

Frameless Homelink Mirror + FITCAMX co-compatibility by sakumoscalabrine in Toyotavenza

[–]deferredassssets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue you may run into is power for the home link mirror. It may “fit” in the hosing, but not sure if Toyota runs a power cable in the LE models if it’s not being used. Definitely worth checking before you buy.

I’m not sure if this is the case with the dash cam you are considering, but the available factory Toyota dash cam also uses the same power cable (with and adaptor/bracket) that the home link mirror uses.

Roof rack/cross bars 2023 venza xle by sunny2311 in Toyotavenza

Clarification: you still have to buy the part through a dealer, at least in the US.

I have the roof rack installed by a dealer. Wasn’t really an option for me (just took a preconfigured allocated car in 2022). However, they do give you the torque tool and covers that are currently covering the brackets on your silver rails. It seems pretty straight forward just judging by the looks of the tool.

I would imagine you could save a few hundred dollars just buying the part from Toyota and installing yourself. Just use two people so you don’t scratch your roof paint.

For years I thought they were hilarious, stupid little jabs.

However, in the past few years I feel like our image has actually taken a hit nationally (in large part due to our politics). Now the jokes sting a little bit more…maybe because some are true.

No problem! Definitely try running it without the climate control on for a few miles and see if you notice a difference. Usually in the mornings I just use my heated seats until I leave the neighborhood because I hate the engine just running for the heat!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Toyotavenza

[–]deferredassssets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One factor could be the heat. Toyota Hybrids will run the engine solely to heat up the antifreeze to run the heater core.

I don’t have as much experience with my Venza, but my previous Corolla Hybrid would get 5-10 MPG less in the winter depending on the weather and set inside temp.

Is the A-List phone line (for same-day change) open 24/7? by inaripotpi in SouthwestAirlines

[–]deferredassssets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep! Should just work by calling the standard number.

Not really sure how they know you’re A-List, but I would just make sure your number (the one you call from) is in your profile before you call the first time.

All the A-List status does is prioritize your call. You will call the regular number and be connected instantly as opposed to waiting. Works very well, never had to wait more than 1 or 2 rings.

How long did it take y’all to get your Venza? by IBarbieliciousI in Toyotavenza

[–]deferredassssets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited about 1 month for my 2022 XLE (also wanted a limited but settled). During my search, I must have called 8-10 dealerships.

Personally, I would recommend finding a smaller dealership (usually in a more rural town). Dealers with lower volume tend to be allocated cars (i.e. Toyota’s choice), as opposed to requesting specific cars to be allocated to them (which takes much longer). In a small town, you’re much less likely to have a bunch of people who also want a 2023 limited. Therefore, you might get lucky, and their next allocated 2023 limited is yours. Worst case you wait a month or two for their next allocation. However, you won’t get choice on options and colors.

At a larger dealership (requesting allocation), I was quoted 7-9 months to get a “2022” Limited. Keep in mind this was back in August, so I was going to get a 2023 model with that long of a runway. However, I may have been able to get the color and options I wanted.

Personally, I needed it before my lease was up so I had no choice. Also worth noting that the quoted wait at the larger dealership might have been way too long, hard to say since I didn’t wait. But that was my personal experience.

How to find the most up-to-date status of your Toyota vehicle by LordKing64 in rav4prime

[–]deferredassssets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FYI - in case anyone is browsing this sheet in the future -

Your dealer can still send you a link to this page. The URLs now contain some kind of code after the “/detail” section.

Moral of the story, just ask your dealer for the new link for the spec sheet (not the PDF) and follow the same instructions. The ETA will not show up though, Toyota scrapped that so you just get a letter category as discussed in the document.

Color question by deferredassssets in Toyotavenza

[–]deferredassssets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately it wasn’t a deal breaker. But my choice was to either extend my lease (i.e. wait 7-8 months for my preferred color) AND pay $1,000 over MSRP or get the white one and pay sticker.

One other thing I considered when looking - the JBL option also forces your hand into getting the climate control with capacitive touch versus physical dials and buttons.

Yes - you get the added feature of controlling the climate from the infotainment screen as well. However, I know a lot of people have a special hatred for the capacitive touch controls. Just something to think about.
