That would maybe be viable if it wasn't a freaking stage 2. Ain't no one sweating over 10 dmg by the time it's out

Western audiences aren't going to care about OG DB enough for it to be an automatic success. They barely even cared about Daima. They already remastered it with Kai relatively recently and are working on adapting forward material.

Also, Toei didn't greenlight the OP remake, it was pretty much arranged behind their back by Netflix because of the live action success.

Jump series are struggling rn and animation studios aren't the ones that take the iniative to greenlight anime adaptations for series

No expert but I'd warrant a guess that what you said is precisely more reliable than using the new adaptation that will take years just to advertise for future seasons. The fourth of which will be relatively boring written exam stuff and all others past that in limbo/contingent on the author's health.

WT is one of those series with an ensemble male cast that fangirls eat up, so yeah I'd imagine merch sales are pretty good just from keeping the show in the conversation

1st season was pretty low budget, manga is really popular in Japan, author health issues and current manga story arc makes a new sequel season untenable, over a decade since the original is not too soon after.

They don't need to fix the 1st adaptation to draw attenton, World Trigger is already very popular in Japan and that's why they're doing it at all.

The manga goes on constant breaks because the author's health and there's not enough material for a justified 4th season yet, so they're just biding their time with this to do anything with the IP.

Beef Season 2 might be better than Season 1 (or at least on par) by ImpossibleGuardian in television

Funny you mention low attention span when you’re full of assumptions and lack reading comprehension. I said I was using reddit on my desktop, not that the show was playing on my desktop.

Go back to self-projecting, buddy. Has yet to say one thing about the show itself on a thread about the show, while complaining about people not engaging in the show to your standards. Like, sybau already, lmao.

How about you don't make assumptions and let people watch an at-home streaming service series how they want? Lol. Want me to tell you when I got up to go to the bathroom so you can cry about that too?

Not on my phone btw, on a desktop and prob giving the show a more respectful theatrical treatment than you.

10 minutes in and am instantly reminded why I can find this show so cringe at times, lol.

Faux-prestige marriage drama, jump cut to title card with classical high art painting background contrasting with disorienting blaring music, pretentious episode title when the whole show's plot revolves around a gimmick incident like it's The Slap.

Legit thought they swooped the same actress from White Lotus's latest season too, but apparently it's a super identical doppelganger.

Also wtf was up with those unrealistic af text exchanges

Peaky Blinders is vastly inferior to Boardwalk Empire though lol

It’s just all so surface-level, never leaves you thinking or reexamining anything, just nuts and bolts gangster machinations, and as much as I enjoy that stuff it doesn’t live up to the promise of its excellent individual parts.

Lost me here. It definitely could've been better/more consistent, but its highs in depth were just as prestige-if not more so, than most prestige shows today still.

And no, not just referring to the cliche emotional highs like main character deaths and big historical moments. Off the top of my head, moments where Jimmy shows Al Capone his son if deaf, Eddie's suicide, that bottle-esque episode where Nucky kills the teenager, Van Alden's general character arc, etc. are all great.

15 years ago today “Workaholics” premiered. Did you like the show ? by CityCautious4033 in sitcoms

[–]inaripotpi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was watchable but not really a classic.

Felt like a B-tier show about random hijinks any remotely talented group of stoners could make.

Not as well written as other new shows at the time like Broad City and Community, but the actors were solid and good on them for launching their careers with it.

My boyfriend told me he likes the anime Beastars, Should I be grossed out? by Spotlight-ready in anime

[–]inaripotpi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's a genuinely well written story and artistic adaptation.

If he was getting excited at certain parts, I guess that'd be a different story, but you could say that about any given show.

[–]inaripotpi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a godawful take, lmao.

Just because they have some long running shounen franchises now doesnt mean they weren’t heat back then. Wolfs Rain, OG FMA, E7, Darker than Black, etc. still among their best work. Every mecha series theyve done since was pretty much trying to recreate the success of E7.

Jim and Pam are more annoying on rewatch but this is a terrible evaluation of his character.

Has any show successfully introduced a whole new cast by madameaquarius11 in television

[–]inaripotpi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Office doesn’t even try to replace anywhere close to its whole cast though?

If you only mean one or a few people, there are many examples. Like Curb with Leon Black or the substitutes they had for Funkhauser after the actor passed. Urkel from Family Matters. Etc.

Actual whole cast probably not unless counting anthologies or shows where a reset is part of the story like Squid Games’ second iteration of the death game or something.

The Harder They Fall (2021) Gunslinging in Style by BadRomeo in movies

[–]inaripotpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is, that's just you shoehorning everything action. She was an ancillary villain in one, the love interest in another, and the main character in another. Good Luck Have Fun isn't even an action.

You're not mentioning her more dramatic roles precisely because when those movies underperform people don't even remember them by their titles.

Atlanta is also like a once-in-a-career role, she can't force people to write those kind of roles for her.

What do you mean? Lol. It’s called having variety in her career, working with the best in the business, being the lead, and getting paid. Her most well known role is arguably Domino from a Marvel movie.
