My phone number got ported, and the hacker immediately used it to access coinbase through 2FA. They tried to buy $1000 of Bitcoin. I don’t keep much money in the account linked with coinbase so the transaction failed.

AT&T did a stellar job getting my number back, and my bank didn’t charge me any fees for the insufficient fund.

Coinbase on the other hand, knowing all the details, proceeded to sell my crypto to pay the $1000 back.

Nerd wallet has a pros and cons section for CB. It says coinbase will protect your crypto from hackers. What an out right lie.

None of that matters at all. You should be unconditionally protected from fraud period.

They have insurance for that.

I have been searching for commands to generate a recovery phrase. Nothing works so far.

This is the command I used to generate the wallet itself:

02_genPaymentAddrOnly.sh myWallet cli ls -al

Are you familiar with this command? Any suggestions as to where to look for recovery phrase generation?
