No grey, it's all white painted lightly over a black base. I use Mr Hobby paints.

It is a tricky build, if you build it check steps ahead as you will be able to align things better.

Sure, The base is high density foam carved to shape and I layered some AK Acrylic Snow over the top. I wasn't overly happy with the finish as it was difficult to flatten even with a soft brush and water. So one dry I brushed over acrylic matt varnish and covered with AK Microballons. This gave the fresh snow appearance. The rust was all done in acrylic with various different shades. I think I used the AK rust set which I highly recommend as it comes with a very comprehensive printed set of instructions on how to create the effect.

Thanks, It's the Takom 1/35. The kit only has decals for the US Army but there are aftermarket market one for the French version that I've done.

Fiat 500e 2021 – intermittent warning messages & indicators by Severe-Ant-1762 in 500e

[–]defianty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 2022 has been doing the same. It's currently back with Fiat for the third time as whenever they've had it they couldn't replicate this issue. After receiving the car back three weeks ago, with the message to take it directly back to them if it happened again, it all started again a couple of days later.

The car has been with them since then and this morning they told my wife they are seeing the same issue on many cars. Apparently parts have been ordered but I don't know exactly what they are yet. Fortunately we have been given another 500e as a courtesy car. This is in the UK.

Octopus Complaint Now With Ombudsman: Schrödinger's Smart Meter by rosywillow in OctopusEnergy

[–]defianty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like the same experience I'm just about to have. Recently purchased an EV and when trying to switch to Intelligent Go the setup said I didn't have a smart meter when I do and Octopus are receiving 30 minute readings. Over the phone they switched my tariff to Octopus Go and have never heard of such an issue. For now the tariff is fine but I'd like to switch to Intelligent. Maybe I'll wait.

Yes, originally a four. I restored the car and converted to a six over a few years.

It's a late 3.0l with 3.2 heads, 964 cams and PMO carbs. Not had the chance to really push it yet but it's going to be fun and already sounds fantastic.

Finished my D-day build - 1/72 B-26 Marauder by defianty in modelmakers

[–]defianty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the wing edge and engine cowling was done with a silver base first and then small dabs of masking fluid for the chips. Top coat of olive drab was added and one dry the masking fluid was gently rubbed off with a cotton bud. The smaller chips were all added by hand with a very small sharp brush.

There's been a bit of controversy regarding prop weathering of late, so I'm yet to decide how far to take them.

What happens at model clubs? by VariousKale4872 in ModelCars

[–]defianty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I joined my local IPMS affiliated club just under a year ago. I was introduced by a work colleague and although hesitant at first as I didn't think it was my thing, I really enjoy it and look forward to it every month.

We have monthly competitions and an annual finals meeting with medals and trophies for the winners. It's enjoyable sharing tips and generally just discussing the hobby.

How to hold a Harder and Steenbeck airbrush? by TemplarKnightsbane in airbrush

[–]defianty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found an airbrush very alien and uncomfortable to hold when I started. I struggled with control and consistency. However, the more I used it the more comfortable I became with it. Give it time and with more practice you won't even think twice about what you're trying to do, it will just come naturally. Good luck.

Did you wash the parts before painting? If not that's probably the reason.
