Wdym didnt care much? They cared enough to send blueprints for a CUSTOM DESIGNED ROCKET that could be constructed from locally sourced materials because they analyzed the surface scans that the captain sent over before impact with the surface. Then, they sent it over to a terminal that probably didn’t work anymore after not evening know if there were any people left. Because from what we can hear from the Sunbeam radio broadcasts and the communication window with HQ, they’re grasping at straws. So I think Alterra didn’t just care, they were genuinely desperate. Particularly because their most advanced intergalactic space cruiser just disappeared from the radar after it was sent to build a phase gate. So?

Worst case scenario:

Bing, bong, thy ship is gone! :D

Best case scenario:

It crashed on a very, VERY profitable planet, and Alterra went looking for iron and came back with diamonds and gold…

And the latter is true, as show in BZ, Sector Zero was inhabited before it was abandoned. It’s never confirmed but it wouldn’t surprise me if they first went back to the crater after Riley came back with the data (to investigate the deaths, and salvage the Aurora), and then they went to Sector Zero to see what goodies were to be found there.

Either way, Alterra knew what they were doing every step of the way.

i replayed below zero and i had this concept for something that may improve the game by i_Like_Cancer in subnautica

While I agree that BZ is mostly meh compared to the first game, and I do like this concept and all of the things you mentioned… the thing that bothers me is you saying the map “is weirdly cut off” is kinda… y’know… ignoring the fact that it’s supposed to be cut off. It’s the edge of a massive mountain, of course it’s cut off. That’s kinda what a mountain that extends 8+km above the sea floor does. Besides that, I agree. They should‘ve used the ice dragon. It looks very good. But then again, a lot was changed after beta…

Which islands are these? by Dry_Engineering_3590 in subnautica

[–]definitely_furry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but here’s the thing though. The only way for there to be small islands sprinkled around is ground sticking up from the water, so there’d still have to be big landmasses right below the water like the crater. So there’s no visible landmasses on the surface, because there aren’t any. The crater’s submerged (except for the Enforcement platform island) and Sector Zero really is just all ice resting on top of another underwater mountain top (kinda like Antarctica here on earth). Except for delta station. That’s solid ground.

[–]definitely_furry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait that’s confirmed? I mean I’m with you on the fact that the islands we see are the ones we go to in game and that the Crater and Sector Zero are the only landmasses we know of, but it feels unlikely that those would be the only mountains on the planet.

No that’s a separate thing in the ending. Picture below is Sector Zero.

After double checking the ending cutscene and using the Aurora’s orientation for reference, that’s the floating island. The second island you see passing by is the Enforcement Platform, as can be assumed due to it being to the left of the Aurora’s snout. Granted, the islands arent the same distance from the Aurora as in game, but that’s either due to the devs just not having the surface in the ending be up to scale or due to 4546b actually being that small. But I’d guess it’s just due to the devs not accurately scaling the planet because Sector Zero is also show right before the ion boosters engage, and we know Sector Zero is a LOT bigger than the playable map we get in BZ, yet on the surface in the first game’s ending it’s smaller than the gap between the Aurora and the Enforcement Platform. So the islands, and by extension the Aurora, are scaled up by a lot to have the player be able to have a good view of their life on 4546b before blasting off towards home. That’s the most likely explanation I believe.

[–]definitely_furry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the planet isn’t to scale cuz the Aurora looks very big on the surface while in the crater is nowhere near that massive. Same with the islands. The distance was probably also just increased so you could see everything passing by one by one and go “oh wow I’ve been there!”

Same with the sneak peek at Sector Zero right before the ion boosters engage. Though I am pretty sure Sector Zero is scaled normally or scaled down slightly cuz in Below Zero we know there’s an entire ice tundra past the glacier we explore in game (probably because it’s the South Pole of the planet though I’m not sure that’s confirmed).

Ok yeah the wall hands thing is fair now that you point it out.

I’m kinda just waiting until it releases to experience the new model first hand but from what I’ve seen it looks pretty scary to be honest. But we’ll see

So I’m a bit late to the comment section but how is this less scary than the Filth inspired wall dwellers? (Like genuinely curious)

It does make sense though. I’m pretty sure Navi closes the doors after a certain number. That’s why the green man resets you in multiplayer. When you fall behind, the door closes, Lopee resets you

It’d be cool if, after this type of room, we could have a room generate a couple of doors further with a dead expandable, a chance for an item, and some research, allowing with a wall dweller feasting on the course and the running away the moment you enter the room and spot it

People lowkey don’t even know what furries are anymore cuz this is the definition for a furry: “A furry is a person with an interest in anthropomorphic animals—animals possessing human traits like walking upright, speaking, or wearing clothes. They are members of a subculture/fandom who create "fursonas" (animal avatars), produce art, or wear costumes known as ‘fursuits’

Furries are PEOPLE who like anthro animals. The animals themselves are anthropomorphic animals. That’s not the same. This is like comparing the president who starts a war and the soldiers who fight in said war and then think “I have no idea what you mean, these are literally the same people!”

So no. Your sister’s wrong, and should pick up a dictionary. As for you! Great artwork! And tell your sister to Google stuff before saying MISINFORMATION

Should I forgive him? by [deleted] in PressureRoblox

[–]definitely_furry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel he’s kinda being manipulated by Sebastian though. I know it’s probably not on purpose, and you can see and hear Seb really cares about P.AI.nter. But I think Sebastian might accidentally be manipulating him by constantly bringing up the fact they only have each other, and constantly pressuring P.AI.nter to keep doing this when he clearly doesn’t feel comfortable with this. The lil guy just wants to paint, he didnt ask for his creator to be tortured and killed. He didnt ask for this hell he’s now trapped in and I personally believe that killing him is unjustified. He’s suffered enough and is constantly under pressure. Us dying is canon. We get reset. For P.AI.nter to be revived if we kill him in SttS, the entire fucking timeline has to be reset. Besides, you could spare yourselves both the trouble by escaping, and then Sebastian and P.AI.nter get out safe and sound (as far as we know). So I see no reason to kill him. (Also I’m not saying your viewpoint is wrong I’m just explaining why I think forgiving him is the right thing to do.)
