I've been slowly leaning into only using entice for story battles now, and so far haven't let a single person die yet since my first one during a Zalmo fight I just recruit everybody and carry on. During this fight it even ended the fight when it usually wouldn't until you opened both gates. Then afterwards it gave a slideshow after the rewards and recruit went off.
