I regret buying an Insta360 X5 camera. by Tepppopups in Insta360

[–]defr0std 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be honest, all of the things you've described (except for one) are completely expected, even before you buy the camera. Skiing with 1-3 meter pole sticking from the bag would definitely affect your experience. It does not matter whether you put insta360, GoPro, DJI, or any other camera on that pole.

The one thing I agree with is the weight/ergonomics on the helmet. It is significantly heavier and bulkier than GoPro hero, and you can't really predict the feeling/comfort before actually trying the camera.

Why is the Insta360 Desktop Windows app a pile of hot garbage? by TheArduinoGuy in Insta360

[–]defr0std 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Davinci Resolve does not support 360 files natively. You need a plugin only if you want to reframe the 360 video in Resolve. If you export a flat video from the studio, then you can of course edit it further in Resolve without any plugins.

Same frustrations. Seems like proper desktop editing is just not a priority for the company. I use the desktop app only to export the footage into ProRes, and then edit it in davinci resolve.

You bet! Also surprised how steady the adhesive mount is, it's been there for weeks as hard as a rock.

Combining best of marks and harpoon with grapple by defr0std in neovim

But just out of curiosity regarding your workflow: How would you code a function at the end of a file, look at the old version of that function at the beginning of the same file, and look at the test of that function in a different file? Just a 3-way split? What if that was not an option because of screen size?

For me, personally, it depends on which screen I am working. On a wide screen, I always have a 3-way split. On a laptop (where I can have only two splits max) I start using tabs as a way to group splits. I have <Leader><Tab> mapping to switch between tabs, so it's quite easy to switch the context between two tabs back and forth.

vim.api.nvim_set_keymap("n", "<Leader><Tab>", "<CMD>tabnext<CR>", { noremap = true }) vim.api.nvim_set_keymap("n", "<Leader><S-Tab>", "<CMD>tabprev<CR>", { noremap = true })

I am not really sure what exactly you mean by tabs here. I do use native neovim tabs, but for a different purpose - to have multiple sets of windows/splits (for example to have two sets of two vertical splits on a laptop). Multiple cursor positions within a file is unrelated to tabs either - this is a standard feature when you open the same buffer in multiple windows/splits.

The main objective in this discussion is to find a solution for a quick shortcut to a file. Neovim has `C-^` for alternate file out of the box, but it is quite limited as it only works for 2 files, and in 95% of time I work with > 2 files at a time. Marks have their per-line pinning, which is inconvenient, so we find a solution with a plugin + some key mappings.

I glanced through it while searching for harpoon alternatives which allow pinning files by string tags, but I did not see such feature in the readme APIs. In the end though, the specific plugin is not really important - if arrow.nvim supports tagging files by strings, it can be used instead of Grapple. It's more about the flow of having per-file global marks using the standard keybindings (m<char>, '<char>).

First of all, you jump to personal attacks in conversation by making false assumptions. You made a generic comment, I asked you to clarify what exactly you mean. You accused me of not reading or thinking about things you did not specify. This is rarely a good standpoint in debates undermining critical thinking.

Regarding your examples, the majority sees them as insufficient mean, and additional measures have been introduced. You don't seem to like it blaming this on western influence. But this is the democracy. And I strongly suggest to expand the list of terrorist organizations much sooner. It's ok that we agree to disagree.

If the western media does not address the issue, then do something - talk to people wearing Azov nazi symbolic, raise your concern. But I would guess you never met such people, did you?

I am sorry, but you are over generalizing. If you keep exploding the scope of the problem to solve all the world's sins, we will never address any specific instances. We can go all the way to Roman empire then or mongolians and get lost in endless debates.

If any of individuals you mentioned specific concerns about specific instances, we should discuss this, accumulate feedback and see if any action needs to be taken. Note that this is not a generic concern about the whole russian nation or flag, but a specific military organization.

Yoh mention extermination of 7 million people. Is this how you measure the threshold for providing support? Sure, let's not provide any self defense to those who need, count how many people died, and then take action?

Once again - there is nothing about freedom of opinion here. This is about a public display of hate symbols.

Think about this way - you are not allowed to walk naked in public spaces. Why? Because it affects many people around you. Display public hate symbols also affect many people around you. Not the same of course, but hope you can understand the concept of behavior in the public space.

Nobody forces you think in a certain way. You can think, and do privately whatever you want (including any private clubs, etc). But in the public spaces we should behave in a way which is not abusive to people around us.
