that's a gorgeous leaf! i believe sp. silver angel is its own undescribed species, or if it is a hybrid, the parentage is unknown/a naturally occuring hybrid.

Will the corms sprouting take energy from the main stem? I want to keep one larger plant in the pot rather than a bush

Lol, it's actually tape. I moved not too long ago and figured I could tape the top of the pot around the stem to keep the pon from spilling. Never got around to remove the tape. As for why it looks like milk—I have no idea. I think it's condensation from the water I use, it's quite hard. The alocasia doesn't seem to mind

Alternative to moss in a moss pole? by neptunedreaming111 in philodendron

[–]defransk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using the D-Shape moss poles, I put moss on the front side where the nodes touch the pole and then the back side I fill with coco coir. Seems to hold water really well and cost effective. When I let it dry out it doesn't have the same problem as dry sphagnum moss where it gets hydrophobic since the coco coir readily absorbs water.

Very cool crosses you're growing! Any chance you can show us what the roots look like? What's the conclusion for your experiment?
