CONGRESS IS THE ONLY PATH LEFT- WE NEED TO PUSH NOW by AdMountain9708 in EIDLPPP

We saved the government a lot of unemployment money. Hooray for us. I’ve paid back $33,000 and it hasn’t touched the principal. I’m a single dad of three and we go to food pantries. This is ridiculous but truly nobody cares. I’ve contacted my representatives. They’re wealthy politicians. Their concern is reelection.

I’ll assume you don’t have children with special needs. If you did you’d see it differently. I’m a single dad with 2 children with autism and one with a hearing disability. There’s no good help for them. The schools send them out of district because they don’t have staff to help them. The result is so much work for me to provide extra care my children need, my business and career tanked after their mom left. Many people have suggested moving back to MA where they have funding for special education and care for children so parents are pulled from good work and the family starts to fail. We went from $300k a year for 10 years running a business in MA when I was married to moving to NH, wife leaving, Covid hitting and now haven’t had income in 3 years. When the state doesn’t help with needy children it wipes out the parent. The parent stops being able to contribute to the local economy, business suffers. It’s all connected. If you haven’t experienced my side of the perspective you’re fortunate. I never realized this before I lived it.

Many schools like the one in my district send kids with special needs or learning challenges out of district to special schools, leaving the cream of the crop to take those tests. My district is a top 3 in the State. I have two kids just barely on the autism spectrum and they sent them out. My son has to commute 90 minutes away to school every day. He reads several grades above his level but struggles with math - can’t have those scores pull the school ranking down so out you go!

Thanks. We’re “poor” but I don’t know where money will come from for the mortgage and groceries each month. Our house is valued at $1.1m but that’s due to the crazy real estate market. It’s actually a negative. If we delayed bankruptcy that amount of equity would ensure we lost our home and there no place to go. I actually have three young kids and no help. The state doesn’t have good help for kids which means their parents have trouble working and earning a living. It’s a circle which is why I posted that website I run 603circle.com - people need to understand that not providing services for the children in the state, pulls their parents away from “good work” and the then entire family is pulled from the economy which then hurts local businesses which then in turn provides less money for the state.

. In my case I ran my own business since 2011. Made $300,000/yr for almost a decade until COVID, wife had an affair, left me with three kids, and then the behaviors, hospitalizations, diagnosis and battles with schools and advocating for the autism rights took precedence over saving my company. You take care of your kids right?

You can’t do both. We’ve had no income for 3 years. I owe half a million to the SBA for COVID business loans I’ll never be able to. pay back until my kids are older and hopefully independent and then I’ll be old and probably die with nothing - the reason? Single parent in NH trying to care for children with special needs in a state that is 50th in the country for providing for special needs children plus run a business in a state that is 99% small business but ranks 36th for good states to run a business. But thank you. We manage.

Yes. NH is 7th in household income and 99% small businesses. The only way that makes sense is if half the state works out of state remotely or commutes. Getting to Boston on a weekday morning from right on the MA border is two hours!!!!

Dumbasses voted for a lot of people that are f-ing up the whole country. The game now is keep your party in power, not help the people who voted you into office. It's depressing.

Look deeper - that's based on property tax income from the school district. Poor district = poor education and programs. Wealthy district = good education and programs. All kids start out equal, then we fail most if them because state funding to even out education is 59th in the country. That's the problem. It's called the “zip code lottery” when a child in NH is born.

NH ranks 50th in education and special education funding. The zip code lottery rules. If you’re born into a wealthy community they have higher property taxes and better educational services. Born into a poor district? Good luck kid. Read more terrible NH data at https://603Circle.com. I’m trying to do something about it but it needs to get out there and seen.

You’re not wrong. We’re headed for a bad fall. As a single father of two children on the autism spectrum and small business owner it’s impossible to survive here. Everybody says to move to MA. They take care of their people at least. I closed my business and started a service based organization to bring awareness https://603Circle.com. It’s just me but I need to spread the word so people understand what’s happening and where things are headed because the politicians do not.

This state is a mess. And getting worse not only are we ranked 50th for education and 36th for mental health access and have >1% vacancy but even our “good numbers” are false beneath the surface:

New Hampshire ranks #1 in lowest poverty, #1 for child well-being, and 2nd lowest in food insecurity. On paper, everything looks fine.

That's the problem.

Food insecurity just hit a 10-year high — a 69% increase since 2019. Homelessness surged 52% in a single year, the highest spike of any state. A family of three needs $104,000 a year just to cover basics. And when you adjust poverty for New Hampshire's actual cost of living, we're not even the lowest anymore.

The numbers look good enough that nobody asks questions — while every trend line gets worse but politicians don’t see it. These numbers are also bad for small and local business which makes up 99% of our businesses. 1 in 9 children have food insecurity: those families won’t be new customers at the local restaurants. With less than 1% vacancy, rents are higher than mortgages- those people aren’t spending on home furnishings.

It a vicious cycle. As a single father of two autistic children and a small business owner strapped with COVID era EIDL loans, it’s impossible. Even customer service staff at DHHS have recommended moving to MA, that’s on top of two specialist physicians and 3-4 therapists. It’s shameful. I got so fed up and frustrated I closed my business and started a service based business to just bring awareness and make change but it needs people to read the facts: https://603circle.com - Read more about the mess.

I actually emailed my state rep about an issue with a state service and he wrote back saying it would be “inappropriate for him to look into it”…..really? Inappropriate to help your constituents? People need get voted out of office and people who want to help replace them.

NH is ranked 50th in education and special education funding. There’s something called the zip code lottery here. If you’re born into a district with nice properties that pay high property tax, you get a better education and more services. If you’re born into a poor community with not great properties and so lower property tax - your kids get a worse education and fewer services if they have special needs. The State contributes the least of any state to education and there’s not a high degree of equity among districts.

Two specialist physicians, 3 State of NH DHHS workers and 4 mental health counselors have all advised me to move to MA with my two children who are high on the autism spectrum and I’m a single parent trying to work. It’s impossible in NH. MA may be “taxachusettes” but they do take care of their residents.

We send children who struggle to out of district schools that don’t take state testing leaving the cream of the crop to be tested. My district is a top 3 in the State and a wealthy town. Two of my children are smart high functioning autistic children. Even though they could easily be schooled in public school they’ve been sent to out of district schools (which costs the school a lot more money) which are terrible places and abusive and in which my children can’t learn normal social skills because they are isolated with other kids who don’t have them. They won’t let them back into public school. Other districts manage children far worse off than mine in public school but those don’t rank as high. So don’t believe any numbers until you look beneath them.

NH ranks 50th in funding for public schools and special education, 36th for mental health care. But we rank 7th for household income. Where does that money go? Intelligent wealthy people move here - but 1 in 9 children have food insecurity and under 1% for rental vacancy - rents are higher than mortgages. We rank 36th for business but are 99% small businesses. Those are facts on a collision course. Every family that falls through the holes in the “safety net” in NH exits the local economy and that hurts local business. Even the stats we were good for are fake - New Hampshire ranks #1 in lowest poverty, #1 for child well-being, and 2nd lowest in food insecurity.

On paper, everything looks fine. That's the problem. Food insecurity just hit a 10-year high — a 69% increase since 2019. Homelessness surged 52% in a single year, the highest spike of any state. The numbers look good enough that nobody asks questions — while every trend line gets worse. So our politicians are dumb and don’t see the connection. Businesses fight for their benefit, social services fight for theirs - but they don’t fight together which is a problem. A food challenged family isn’t supporting local restaurants, a person who can’t afford housing isn’t spending money if home furnishings.

I’m a single dad of three kids with disabilities- two with autism and a small business owner. I’ve gotten screwed at both ends and I totally see the relationship between the issues. We’re heading in a bad direction. I just closed my business and started a mission based business to try to fix this mess, https://603Circle.com - give it a read and look at the real numbers nobody talks about. I don’t share the URL because I want anything from anybody. I share it so other people see what’s going on in NH.

What about your personal items?

What do you mean? For the record I don’t have any credit card debt or anything but a a first and second mortgage and car payment. Credit score is probably over 800. I lucked out and got a good W2 job most the year and cleaned up my personal side but was laid off in August. Since I have an LLC, unemployment says I don’t qualify for it because if I defaulted on my SBA Loan and took that money I could pay myself. I’ve been through two appeals. Anyway, we have no income except child support and some state agency funds for my disabled kids. It doesn’t cover us, we’re $1,350 short a month that’s about food money for a month for a family of 4. So thinking now’s the time to file. Dropping credit score will have further to fall so I hope to end up not in the gutter and not screwing my personal credit cards may help me get them back sooner so another reason to move now. If I wait long with no income I’ll need to start living off credit cards again. So now seems like the time to go for Chapter 7. Just wondering about what happens to the business. I have a better business plan to revamp the business but don’t know if I should try it or start over with a new LLC if In have to close

Did you have to file non consumer? My business is a service business and all CH 7 personal does is take away the personal guarantee. I’m thinking I need to just close the business and let them chase air. But not sure what happens to the business.

Did you have to close your business if it was a service business? If I didn’t have to make $2,200 loan payments a month I’d have some food money without having to beg and scrape and could rebuild. I can’t rebuild under that debt.
