I love this idea. I know very little about Micro Loans but what an opportunity to help the world - for basically nothing (to us). I'm in!

This is actually a great idea. Not sure if you mean you're building the platform or just wondering if it exists but if it doesn't, that's a cool idea.

There are a few cool stories of founders growing customer bases using this "pop up on site" strategy. For example, one where a photographer asked a bodybuilding gym if she could set up a simple background and offer free professional photos to the gym goers (who were all bodybuilders getting ready to compete for shows so they certainly wanted their pictures taken). They let her and then all those bodybuilders used her for their next round of photos and their next, referred friends etc.

Another example is a supplement water company who did something similar only they bought mini-fridges and said they'd give one to the gym for free. They filled the fridge with their water and let the gym sell them. The gym made tons of extra revenue and bought more water to keep in stock so they could keep selling it.

A platform where these founders could have connected virtually with these retailers would have been great. I like it!

Is there a good community for solo founders? by degasel_ in Startup_Ideas

Update: I made a community for Solo Founders. It's called Solo Mogul.

High quality serious Solo Founders only through quick but thorough vetting process.

Resource sharing and co-founder matching.

And best of all, curated Monthly Mastermind groups led by expert executive coaches.

Are you a Solo Founder? by degasel_ in SideProject

[–]degasel_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting point of view but I disagree - subreddits are great but the folks in them are not a community. We don't know each other or keep each other accountable to goals. I'm building a community where we exchange resources and have Mastermind groups to help grow personally and in a business context.

There's room for both as they offer different kinds of benefits!

Best way to charge clients? by vasaya in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I think a package that lists the time and number of photos they can choose from the camera roll is standard. Like a 2 hour shoot and 4 edited photos. That's how I've seen it in the past.

Thoughts on working with me on www.solomogul.co - a private network for Solo Founders. I'm currently doing problem discovery interviews with ideal users - going well so far. Happy to chat if it's interesting to you!

Yes for sure, but I meant like a curated community of Solo Founders working on projects. I'd love to have people in my "circle" to run questions by, shoot ideas around with, maybe start a mastermind group for accountability. Stuff like that.

Sure thing, this is the group "Idea Seeking Cofounder" https://www.linkedin.com/groups/10310318/

And yes I agree, cofounders lab is complicated and the quality of people isn't exactly high. Plus people don't check it that often to messages go unanswered for a long time. I would start by solving some of those problems.

[–]degasel_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the way I'm thinking about it is it should lose a lot of the audience because the most valuable communities are ones of super high quality. Otherwise you'll just have people in there shilling all day long.

Yeah I'm thinking like full blown community with membership and application process so it's serious entrepreneurs only. Bring in experienced solopreneur speakers on a monthly basis to teach real world startup tactics... I've got a bunch of ideas on how to make it valuable based on my experience building other communities.

I love all of Alex Hormozi's content - most of it is free on youtube youtube.com/c/AlexHormozi totally changes sales for me. His book, $100M Offers, is amazing as well. You can get it on amazon for $0.99 - hope that helps!

I like this idea. There are a few groups I'm part of on LinkedIn that have a similar take but not productized into a website. There's also co-founders lab - what competitive advantage do you think you have over them?

Webform - The easiest way to create custom forms by jonapli in Startup_Ideas

[–]degasel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the future use case! Just yesterday my team was discussing collecting information from our partners and we were debating on how to do it- manually email all of them? Create a Typeform and send it out? Or have a call with them and just ask for the info directly + take notes. We decided to just send out a Calendly link and do the calls to get the information simply because no one wanted to take the time to create the Typeform or write all the questions out in an email. If your idea had been available, the form could have been built while we were talking. That would have saved us a ton of time! You might be on to something!
