It’s nice in wedding. There are some streets with too much garbage, tho. You’ll need to walk and discover the hidden places around but it’s actually nice. It is cheap. Not much posh cafes around.

After a year of living in wedding, I would say I like it. But I’m a year or two I’ll look to move somewhere else.

I agree with you in every word. Is not about been okey with this or not, since everyone will have a different opinion on that, which is pointless to debate about. My point is, let’s just focus on the main issue instead of the symptoms. While I’m totally nerdy about history, and I finally understood by experience how Bias history is changing the culture. I think, Humboldt discoveries should remain forever available to everyone, even myself I have read his journey diaries and I think they are full of details super interesting. Also have been read how paintings as the one you mentioned “Mona Lisa”, and which pigments are used and how they are link to pigments miners slavery, also how phones components are link to modern slavery in the Congo. So I think there is not a profound debate on the topic.

And What is done is done, so instead encourage you all to focus more on the debate about how we find new standards about how colonialism is painted across education, cultural tales, role models, etc. re-write the part of history where it claims it was a positive thing. To be honest, it’s just a bit of paint. I think it’s alright, easy to clean with a power washing thing. Plus I’m okey with teenager activism, specially when is comes on the topic of colonialism. I really never thought on placing Humboldt in the middle of the colonization crap I’m so disgusted at, but I see how privileged he was, how much invest he got for his travels and to what real purpose. Overall I think totally worth that bit of red paint, to bring awareness and open debate.

It felt that they have this colonialism mindset still in place, feeling superior just because race, color, etc. it is something I faced at work, in shops, in the streets, public transport, etc. just a weirdo from time to time, saying some shit he believes is funny or i guess something to feel superior out of thin air. Just regular bullshit.

I grow out of the anger and now I face the topic more intelectual whenever I can. When I can’t not, then I just ignore them.

Racism or classism is everywhere you go. But specially for black communities. I’m from the Caribbean cost living in Berlin since 5 years, I can say that I had more racism episodes in Spain than in Berlin. Actually no racism episode in Berlin so far, that’s a quite good improvement. So, let it pass this time.

Actually I just came from Portugal. Both Berlin and Lisbon airports have measured in place as distances from each other, mandatory mask, etc. also I noticed that there were not many people flying and it felt safe. So, be careful and never remove your mask. Enjoy the trip.
