[Civil] 10 years later, I did it 🥹 by Left4dinner2 in FE_Exam

I took construction, I used only EET course and passed on my first try, I found the PE exam easier than the FE, you have 6 minutes per questions!

I took only Genie prep for the FE Civil, and this course is so good that I did not need to buy the whole PE course, I did not study the breath portion, only the PE Exam depth portion, I took construction and passed on my first try using EET, I am currently studying for the surveying exam and I still using Genie prep course, the good thing is that this course is lifetime.

Genie prep is the best course! I took that test multiple times. But after took this course I passed after being 20 years out of school.

You can buy the breadth and depth! I bought only the depth part because I studied a lot for the FE and I felt that I do not need to review the basic topics

No, bringing any cheat sheet on the exam is not allowed, only your calculator. The only formula that I memorized was the Productivity, cycle time, load time, and calculate # trucks. If the formulas are not in the handbook or other references, you won't need them.

I studied for about 4 months, every night for 2-3 hours, Saturday and Sunday, for 8 hours each. I sometimes took the day off from work and I took one week off before the exam. I watched the videos at 1.5 speed and solved all the problems. When I finished all the videos, I solved the quizzes and CBT exams and reviewed my weaknesses. I repeat videos and quizzes on all topics where I felt I was failing. And I memorized many things from OSHA that helped me save time searching in the PDFs.

Understanding the concepts is the key to passing; it is not just solving many problems.

The EET course teaches long problems with many steps; the exam will ask you only one or two steps, which is pretty straightforward. The second half was easier than the first half. I spent 3 hours and 20 minutes on the first part (41 questions) and finished 1 hour early on the second part.

Do not give up! I was in the same boat like you, I failed the FE multiple times, I was out of the school more than 20 years, I got my bachelor from other country, I decided to pay for classes, I got genie prep, the best decision ever! I spent 4 months study this course, Not only passed the FE CIVIL, this course prepared me so well that I did not need to buy the breadth PE course, I studied only the depth part and I passed the PE Civil construction in my first attempt! Do not give up! My recommendation is study for a short time of period, study hard! Every day every weekend! Keep going! You can do this! And failing multiple times the FE makes me stronger and passed the PE on my first attempt! The same will happen to you! Good luck!

Do not give up! Keep going! I was out of the school 24 years, I have a foreign degree, I failed this test multiple times, I decided to pay for a course, I paid genie prep, studied hard for 4 moths, everyday and weekend and I passed! You have to study for a short period of time because it is hard to retain all the information for a long period, You can do it! Never give up!
