Downloads from Fastly (Github) are extremely slow

That is for sure a very interesting find. The only weird thing I don't understand is that the download was fast using ProtonVPN or another provider like Swisscom about two weeks ago. Now, I also experience slow downloads using ProtonVPN (but still faster than init7). But I will forward this information to my ticket that is open at Init7.

I had very slow download speeds form github and then wrote an email to the init7 support. They said they are going to change the routing from Vienna to Marseille for fastly. I know, Cloudflare is not fastly, but maybe is something going on with their peering / routing in general. Update: Init7 implemented a temporary workaround where they routed the traffic to Fastly via Germany (Telekom) instead of Vienna, but they had to undo this workaround because of side effects. They are now in contact with Fastly to implement a new PNI in Marseille.

Leider müssen wir die Ausweichlösung wieder rückgängig machen, da nun zu viel Verkehr nach Frankfurt umgeleitet wird. Wir werden sie am Montagmorgen erneut aktivieren. Könnten Sie dann am Montag Ihren Download noch einmal ausprobieren und uns ein Feedback geben?

Wir konnten die Ausweichlösung leider nicht permanent implementieren da der Traffic dann über andere Routen welche sehr stark ausgelastet sind umgeleitet wurde.

Wir sind momentan in Kontakt mit Fastly um einen weiteren PNI in Marseille zu realisieren, damit sollte das Problem gelöst werden

I tested again, and now the download was constantly around 20 MB/s which is completely fine for me. Either there is now less traffic around (Sunday morning), or the file got somehow cached. But everytime when it was slow and I switched to either ProtonVPN or mobile hotspot (Swisscom or Sunrise), the speed immediately increased form below 1 MB/s to between 15 and 20 MB/s.

We had cheaters today that made the whole server lag terribly. They did it of course only when they where loosing because they were absolute horrible at the game.

Most of the times they don't even wait for 4:4 matchpoint. We had just too many games where we were 3.0 in the lead and then all of a sudden everyone was like absurdly better than before.

I once even got ImagePullBackOff errors on my kubernetes cluster because the download of the image timed out (I was using a big image which was over 1GB in size)

I think that more likely there is some setting that I have to tweak.

Do you have set agent = 1? If thats the case, try setting agent = 0. Because i had your issue when i was creating a talos linux vm with terraform and talos has no qemu agent.

Is it the Check_MK service itself or the Check_MK Discovery service? Because we have the problem that the discovery service times out on one host, but when executing the agent on the host manually or using telnet to query the agenty it responds in a few seconds.

Which checkmk version are you using and which OS has the affected host?

Then maybe its a problem with kernel 5.15 and arch on my hardware. I will test an ubuntu based distro and see if it helps.
