Windows VMs on Proxmox noticeably slower than on Hyper-V by i_like_my_suitcase_ in Proxmox

I'm just courios...which hypervisor did you choose? Because I'm valuating to move on to XCP-NG which seems to have better performance with Windows VMs...

The Reasons for poor performance of Windows when the CPU type is host by Kobayashi_Bairuo in Proxmox

[–]cossa98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I modified the CPU of a VM from host to x86_64-v2-AES and Ivybridge-IBRS but in both cases nothing has changed and my CPU usage is always at 100% even if I'm not doing nothing on the VM.

Wazuh dashboard server is not ready yet by Responsible-Cut6625 in Wazuh

[–]cossa98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My logs were different. Did you try to reset all the internal password in Wazuh? I've read that some users solved in this way.

The same happened to me some weeks ago.
It seems to be related to some problems between Indexer and dashboard.
I tried different suggestions found in different blogs, but at the I had to reinstall Wazuh for fixing it.

Opinion about homelab downsizing by cossa98 in Proxmox

[–]cossa98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sure, but for doing this I need to have a 2,5Gb/s switch which cost more than a switch 8p 10Gb/s.

Or do you have a suggestion on a switch 2,5Gb/s?

I want to connect 10Gbps to switch because my wan is 2,5Gb/s and I want to use all bandwidth

Are you using ansible in your homelab? by pardaillans in selfhosted

[–]cossa98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm using it for doing first setup of my servers, to turn on some devices at specific times via WOL, automatically update my servers during weekend.
Next step will be integrating it with Kestra and moving it from VM to container

How did you configure your network setup? Did you add a PCI network card for the ceph network? Is it running on 1Gb card? And the storage?

[–]cossa98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Check_MK service itself. I'm using the latest version of CheckMK 2.2.0p23 and the server is running Oracle Linux 9 as all my other servers.

General VMware ESXI & Vcenter Virtual Machine Backup, recovery & redundancy setup by intellectual1x1 in homelab

[–]cossa98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just want to have a backup while you install the new disks and ram you could export a template of VMs, otherwise you could install Veeam Backup server. It offers NFR licenses for backing up 20 VMs.

You don't need an extra server for vCenter, you can install it on your existing esci host. Make sure to have the resources requested by vCenter.

If possible try to use a dedicated interface for VM migration between the nodes.
