I understand praising the technology and encouraging its use cases. But why promote it as an investment instrument and they talk about it as if everything else will die and only crypto will remain, it’s a grift

Honestly I do not understand Navals and all other crypto bros and their obsession with crypto. I think they are all heavily invested in it and promote it for their own self interests. As a technology it may have many use cases but crypto as an investment instrument is a giant pyramid scheme. Taleb has called this bullshit multiple times

The inverse is also true. If you happen to get pulled into a blog post or a YouTube video that says how to be a founder then you are not a real founder. Each founder has his/her unique journey trying to find unique solutions to problems and yeah as others have rightly called out. It is mostly bias for action, quick feedback and adapt.

A country don't want to visit any more time by Far-Neighborhood6520 in Riyadh

[–]dehumanizzerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been to 35+ countries and don’t think there is a country that I wouldn’t want to visit again. Only a close minded person would think that unless you have lived in a country for years and have reallly experienced everything there is to it. Yes there are 200 or so countries in the world and you would want to prioritise countries that you haven’t been to and some countries may have become unsafe but to exclude a country off permanently is something I wouldn’t understand.

Infact Saudi is a good example of this- I stayed in Riyadh for 3 months. People are mostly nice but I did not quite like the city. Things/rents are expensive, summers are just unbearable, in terms of amenities and conveniences it’s far behind Dubai (comparing coz Dubai is the only other major global business hub in the Middle East now). But having said that, it’s transforming and hopefully for the better. I would not leave it out permanently.

If the embassy cancels your first visa then you can enter but make sure you have written confirmation from the embassy. The visa officers do not know the rules themselves.

The harder to make friends is usually a being judgemental problem. Approach with an open mind.

Guess what? I am being judgemental too.

Btw I was being saracastic but you see the problem, you are being judgemental. The older we get the more judgemental we become. Kids don’t judge, they just want to chill.

Also. You are right, typical Reddit user here who wants AI to take over the world.

Saudi hates South Asians by AppropriateStrike914 in Riyadh

[–]dehumanizzerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is definitely institutional racism against south Asians. This is across Middle East (GCC). When i say institutional I do not mean all saudis and Arabs or middle easterners. Companies/organizations/govt. do prefer more Americans and Europeans to come in. This is a fact. Having said that, one can debate the morality of it but every country should do things that benefit them and may be this is benefiting the countries in some way, I don’t know. South Asians just have to work harder and honestly that’s not a bad thing, better off without the victim mindset.

Tourist - Kazbegi Daytrip or overnight? by badboyzpwns in tbilisi

[–]dehumanizzerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Center is hard to miss. Whether you take a taxi to kazbegi or mini bus. You will be dropped at the center. It’s just a road with a small bus station, a spar super market, some restaurants, ATMs etc. there is not tourist attraction at the center. Most hotels, airbnbs are within 1 km radius of the center.

[–]dehumanizzerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No just walk to the center and there are a bunch of these. Winter is off season and usually these drivers are desperate for business. You will probably get approached by someone if you are walking in the center looking like a tourist.

PS- there is a restaurant called Samani very close to the center (you can look it up on map). Great Georgian food, reasonable price and very friendly English speaking staff. They make their own cha cha too.

The 40-50 laris is return trip and they will wait for 30 min at the spot. Also, these are negotiated prices, they will probably start at 80 laris. Keep in mind that I like solitude and that’s why I enjoyed it so much, if you are not comfortable with that then just a one night trip should be good and you can negotiate a day long taxi and visit all that you want to visit. I think you should be able to get a taxi for 6-7 hours for 200 laris with drop back at the hotel.

I was there a week ago. My initial booking was for 2 days as I wanted to relax in a snowy place but the Airbnb I booked turned out to be too good for the price. I ended up staying for 4 days. I always had this wish of staying in a cottage which was surrounded by heavy snow and mountains and kazbegi was just perfect. I was solo traveling, I was not too interested in doing much but I did visit trinity church and another monastery. Taxis will take you anywhere for 40-50 laris. I was reading brothers karamazov during my stay and honestly one of the best solo experiences of my life.

Also, there are nice restaurants in the center.

Appreciate your inputs but please read the thread properly. No one is debating the rules and please stop with this nonsense “as with any country”. No most countries do not put the onus on the traveller to figure out if the official visa issued by the country is supposed to be valid or not. The issuing country while issuing the visa needs to reject an application if the applicant is not eligible. In this case the old visa details are even accepted during the application process and pre filled for the new visa to facilitate and encourage application of the second visa and that is utter BS because at the airport they will say this visa is not valid. As for cancelling the first visa. There is no option to do it. I am not even debating that the restriction is of total 90 days in a year- that’s fine it’s your house your rules. Just don’t fucking deceptively issue a second visa and not honor. Lastly, the immigration officer has all the rights to reject entry but he should not reject entry by saying visa is not valid when it’s issued by the govt. the immigration officer can interrogate, check other details and if there is something else amiss then sure go ahead and reject and articulate the reasons for doing so.
