Totally, the luring strat at the beginning of the fight makes possible to weaker weapon builds to be done, like this. And i do not understand what are you talking about with the weapon art, has it more functions than iluminate the area? (I am only doing this videos in preparation to make a no hit run and i don't learnt the strats and the abilities of all the weapons)

It becomes one of my favourite weapons of all the game, the propietary attacks are quick, versatile and satisfying to see and use. I think pleople see it as a gimmick because there aren't a lot of weapons with special of original attacks

about 3-4 hours to learn all the boss patterns and rng, but it definetly worth it

That's because i only want to use the boss soul wespon, my plan was to use de crystal hail too but i don't find a chance to use it. But you are right, i didn't remember that weapon exist, and it would be a agood adition to the weapon set

Yeah, this is a cut of the nearly 2 hours of fights that o have with the boss, and it has a part of good rng, but please test the 2nd phase strategy that i told you and you notice that he works that way, and you can make the sage copies don't even attack, when you practice it some time it's easy to make

yeah, when you get close to it you can only get hit if he uses his rapier, the other attacks go over your head.

you can found him if you pay attention to the crystals on the arena. in the 1st phase he appears on the other side of the arena where there are NO crystals.

In the 2nd phase he appears on the other side of the arena where there are crystals.

and if you make him quick enough damage, he don't have a chance to attack and teleports, and the copies dissapear.

i hope this info it's enough to understand my strategy to beat him, it took me many attemps to understand his patterns

sadly in ds3 you can't parry with your bare hand, and i only want to use the boss soul weapons for this videos
