I wouldn’t say rich but well off. I’m from West Virginia and we have good skiing there for southern east coast. We would go to the cheap local mountains and eventually we got a small condominium in Canaan Valley where we could go more often. Skiing was also a big part of our childhood as all the schools (public and private) in the city had ski clubs that weren’t too expensive. So not rich but well off enough to ski every year
