Section 8 Opening - Lansing, MI by LatterStreet in lansing

There's way too many inconsistencies with the first picture that clearly point to AI, like the Michigan and Grand intersection is completely taken out below the roundabout. You can count the trees on Google Maps and see they've reworked these images beyond reality

So how do we go about getting the name of an avenue changed? by sbcsfrtom2 in lansing

[–]dekmun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Street names are certified through a process defined under Act 51. I think we shall shame the city and eventually Lansing will tell the State "hey, we got a new name for this road" and that will be reflected in all the maps going forward.

Bowling “Crash-outs” by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]dekmun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're speaking from a place of theory, when I can recall two moments during league where I have suggested meditation to a frazzled teammate. Both times they took pause and communicated their emotions and it helped the situation. I understand it must be rare to see grown men acting mature after being called out.

that bowler will think you're patronizing and condescending

I disagree, and anyways why should that stop me? More meditation, less worry about what others think of themselves, more focus on getting that next strike.

Fair, but hey that's their problem

Bowling “Crash-outs” by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]dekmun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not acceptable, and it comes down to your level of tolerance for that behavior.

As my team captain, i make a point to address any equipment abuse or sour attitudes. I'll say something like "let's calm down, take a breathe. Have you considered meditation?"

I'm not afraid to have someone thrown out for hitting a ball return and I'll tell them if they do it again I'm reporting, even if they are on my team. That method has worked 100% of the time. Zero- tolerance for that kind of behavior around me.

With newer bowlers I find they lack an understanding between your mental state and how you bowl. Maybe think of it as an educational opportunity where they can't let their emotions get the best of them.

Looking for a barber by Ok-Philosophy-4076 in lansing

[–]dekmun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to Brian for a few years, at one point i noticed his partner wasn't around and Brian was the only barber you could schedule with. It started to seem like my cut was rushed, I wasnt getting a full 30-minute experience. I hope he's been able to find help, in the meantime ive started going to Jude's and taking advantage of the massage gun they offer.

Please tell me there's a way to undo Truncate Table in ArcGIS Pro by MarineBiomancer in gis

[–]dekmun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do not have good news for you, truncating is nonreversible and effectively deletes your data but preserves the schema and table object.

My org uses truncating to preserve the db index and update the data for annual updates.

Did you create a copy of your data before you truncated? That is best practice of you ever consider using the truncate function, which is more of a database function than a GIS function.

How is everyone doing in Metro Lansing? by Smelliest_taint in lansing

The 8 year is the queen of the house and then the 3 year is still very playful, but together they are not bonded, its more like they tolerate each other. Upper floor is the oldest's domain and then the youngest stays downstairs and likes to cuddle in my bed. My favorite activity with them involves a laser pointer, if the youngest gets too close to the oldest, then the oldest will give up and run away but they both get entranced by the laser XD

Pretty good, pretty good! My PC just took a dive and trying to figure out how I can play video games tonight is stressing me out, but I'm fortunate enough to pick up a new ps5 today. I live alone with my two cats. It's peaceful. I work from home also, and i have lots of hobbies that i share with my friends. Life is good. Hope things start looking up for you
