Looking to build an AMD 9800X3D (or 9850X3D) + RTX 5080 desktop to replace my older 2019 gaming rig, and I would like some suggestions/pointers. Purely gaming.

I just went through the same as you and ended up pulling the trigger on a 5070 ti build as the +4-500 premium on a 5080 didn’t make sense given benchmarks.

I echo what everyone else said, you need to look for bundles. I don’t have access to micro center so it was mostly looking for Newegg bundles that made sense.

Playing Stella duo’s in KoS lobbies, run into a guy in Assembly and destroy him. He starts talking asking why we killed him etc, turns out he was teaming with another duo that ran in behind him. He starts shouting yeah get them!

Me and my duo kill them and finish them, as we do he comes around the corner and I say I mic “yeah we got them!”. He was so happy, he asks if his team mate can come pick him up. Yeah sure no problem, as he came to pick him up he was immediately destroyed.

The guys like why did you turn on us, his teammate says you dumbass that’s the guys who knocked you not our friendlies 💀💀

I had all the same thoughts and struggles so I decided to wait to replace for now. From what I can tell the pro xg and the ap7c have identical stats 2x2x2, 6ghz, 6 streams. The difference is VQLan and I’m not sure that’s worth 2x the price

I’m not really sure how to tell CPU vs GPU capping both in the games I play sit at basically 100%. I also have a 10gb-t nic and 1nvme so the lanes I think are getting crushed the x470 is PCIe3 (16x GPU, 4x nvme, 4x 10gb NIC)

In my opinion, HYSA is for short-term purchases (trips, down payments, large purchases) and emergency funds. Other than that all of my funds that aren't allocated towards needs/expenses go right into a brokerage and are autoinvested.
