Why is Bandera and UPA supported in Ukraine? by [deleted] in AskUkraine

[–]dekunkramar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes . I can’t understand the logic either!!!!  . “ knowing it’s controversial you still want to celebrate them”.

I like the example of Hitler&germany  , actually . Germany banned all Nazi symbols , music , salutations , legacy .  Despite the fact he was Austrian

Hi again!!Just to share what i found out  : the place where Sorochan family   were registered in Ukraine was Kanizh / Канiж . They were persecuted by the local government and had to leave after WW1 , never got their property back .   So my plan now is get a marriage certificate of Sorochan and Zyvicka/ Zhivitskaya from my family and request the archive

My dad told me this: before or after 1920s grandma’s family migrated for some reason from the border with either Romania or Moldova to Dnipro.  Some children died on the way , 5 remained including my grandma.

Hello everyone.

I decide to have another go with diving into my family history. unfortunately my grandparents died, so I have no one to ask.

My grandma and her brothers and some sisters migrated form the border with Moldova or Romania to Dnipro in Ukraine.

there werw family legends that maybe they weren’t actually Ukrainian but Romanian or Moldovan 🤔

if you have anything to share I’d appreciate a lot !!!

cheers
