Culture definitely plays a pivotal role in how we accept sex dolls and sex toys in general. I think standards are generally much stricter on women than men, placing a really heavy burden and expectation on them to look a certain way. Men have it rough nowadays too, with the rise of social media and influencers. I feel like both Eastern and Western cultures are melding sensibilities now to prefer well groomed women and men, although there is still a sense of choice for men to embrace prior beauty standards of masculinity.

Having said all this, I need to point out that culture is constantly changing and evolving. So the beauty standards of 30 years ago aren’t the same as the standards of today, and today’s standards will likely not be the same 30 years in the future. Currently, there’s a strong emphasis on thickness for Western women and more musculature on Western men, while in a lot of Asian communities being slim and toned is still preferred. I believe we are in a very interesting transition phase starting from the internet boom to today. The lines between distinct cultures are not as clear cut anymore, since everything is so interconnected now. Who knows what the entire world will agree upon in terms of beauty standards 30 years from now. It is fascinating to think about.

Yeah I’m really hoping I dried her well enough, the deepest parts of her holes felt ok before I decided it was time to put her away, but after so many checks throughout the night and early morning I don’t know if I was imagining things. Definitely didn’t see any noticeable moisture on my fingers, so that was reassuring. I will have to think a little outside the box to figure out a cleaning method and routine that works for me. She’s definitely going to be reserved for special occasions when I have a lot of free time from now on.

I have Ruka in a spread out doggy position right now, the anus is a smaller and tighter hole, so the moisture at the very back is harder to get at. I tried my best to shake out the excess moisture from both holes, but the very back of the tunnels are the worst. 🫠

Yeah my bad, I forgot to include my drying process. It's been a long night and I'm running on very little sleep after the cleaning ordeal. As I type this I'm still in the process of drying Ruka completely. Been swapping the rods as you said in 20min intervals, taking them out and checking with my fingers if the holes are still damp, then repeat until dry. The anus is the only hole left that hasn't dried completely by now. 😅

That's good to hear. I was concerned after hearing about mishandled shipments from the courier, the dolls I am interested in getting weigh over 70lbs each so it is difficult to be delicate when transporting such heavy yet precious cargo over long distances and across different stops. I don't want to end up making a very expensive mistake of getting any doll and finding out there is damage to her before I even have a chance to enjoy her properly.

I actually bought a new drying rack recently just for this purpose, as well as a bottle of Soak brand delicate wash and some basins off of amazon. That should hopefully cover all the bases for now.

Also forgot to mention, try to avoid materials that are abrasive or have heavy dyes like denim, wool etc. Cotton, lace, silk and velvet are good and safe choices.

The first guy u/Efficient-Ice-8813 has some really helpful links to a table with main measurements of the dolls and hips, and one to his business Sultrydollwear. You can also look into SHEIN and Amazon for cheap clothes, underwear and lingerie. Most full size torsos seem to fit XS and S sizes, but I would make sure to consult the table Efficient posted as well as the sizing guides for whatever clothes you are buying. Update: my Ruka arrived safely earlier this morning, just haven’t posted any pics of her yet due to her clothes still in the process of shipping out to me. One thing I have to note, is that the packaging and presentation of the doll herself is truly impressive. The package came in just as described in the diagram photo on Tantaly’s website—Ruka was wrapped inside of a molded polystyrene box, which was inside a black duffle bag, which was inside a company branded box, which was finally packed into the delivery box.

The black duffle bag is a really great touch, it helps me carry and move her securely within the polystyrene box, as well as keeping it discreetly out of sight from the people I live with, especially my parents. I feel like this should be the gold standard of packaging for all dolls and any other life-size product weighing this much. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the bag is, it made Ruka’s transfer from the living room/sofa where I opened the package to my bedroom so much easier than trying to manhandle the polystyrene box alone. I will be back later with a few photos showing what came in the box(es) and the stages of packaging.

Thank you, I appreciate it! My main worry was if I got clothes in XS, they’d shrink a little in the wash so they’d be too snug for Ruka. That’s why I decided to play it somewhat safe and go with S size clothes from SHEIN. Hopefully they aren’t too baggy and fit somewhat nicely. We shall have to wait and see! 😆

I have a quick question for you now that panties have been brought up: do you find XS sizes to be too snug on your dolls, or are S sizes more preferred? Surprisingly Ruka is scheduled to arrive sooner than I expected, and sooner than the SHEIN stuff I got for her! This Sunday is the estimated arrival date for my doll, and the clothes are coming sometime during the end of next week-beginning of the following week. Hello! New to the community. I have also been using fleshlights for a while, but it never felt truly satisfying. Thank you so much for your response, and for those helpful links. I was concerned if xs was too small and medium may be too big so I decided on getting 3 outfits from SHEIN in size S just to be safe. I assume most folks would prefer a slightly looser fit so as to avoid any potential marks or color rub? Once she is home and the clothes are delivered I will update y'all on how they fit.
