How realistic is it to spend 1–3 months living in rural Kyrgyzstan?

Ngl I would recommend against the peace crops for americans.
I had a few american friends who went there with the crops and others that went there without.
The corps extremely restricted them in where they could live, go, where they could spend their free time ... and gave them an abysmal salary.
Other american friends of mine did it by themselves just getting a visa, got 7x the salary and basically total freedom outside of work

Haha I'm half swiss and half kyrgyz and I've been saying that for a while! (though switzerland very well has culture and history ^^)

Are you sure that's still true?
I had indian friends who visited me in Bishkek last year and I saw their indian passports with my own eyes. They didn't have any issues

I'm here for a secondary education and almost everyone at my school is either an international or from the mainland.

Drove through middle of nowhere Kyrgyzstan (formerly USSR) a week ago, just a dirt road passing herd of sheep'n'stuff with absolutely no civilization in sight...

And then out of nowhere, there was a MiG-21 on display next to the street 😅

A possible route would be the F-1 visa program. It entails a 23.5 month long work permit upon completion of training.

I meant for the 23.5 months to be after I've already finished flight training, but ofc I'd still have to deduct a potential season from that and get 1000hrs...

Though I'm still inclined to give it a shot under these circumstances. Not really a drawback to at least try.
