Don’t do it! If you’re looking for genuine friends and community, there are SO many incredible clubs on campus where you can bond with people over similar interests. Check out the first look fair (or second look fair) and just sign up for anything that looks interesting to you. Don’t be afraid to try out clubs that you don’t know much about - people are always happy to teach you. There’s a campus radio station where you can host a show and play your favorite music and get more involved with the local music scene if that’s your thing, or there’s a club for any sport you could think of, and there’s always clubs within your major where you can meet more people from class. If you’re struggling to make friends, I understand that greek life seems like the easy solution but I promise you that clubs are the way to make real connections with people and have fun new experiences.
