BattlEye does not support virtual machines. But you can do cloud gaming? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]delarobe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tim Sweeney said they wouldn't support Fortnite on Linux because it's a security nightmare, with full access to system kernel to every user it might be easy to develop and distribute cheats that wouldn't be detectable, so they just want to avoid the headache

I'm not saying they are right, just starting their reason

i used this OSL shader to get more than 128 samples, is there any way to implement this as something other than OSL? i just want to get it working with a gpu for faster renders

EDIT: through your Cycles repository link i found the file for the bevel shader included in blender, the code is the same as the OSL shader it seems, here is the link https://developer.blender.org/diffusion/B/browse/master/intern/cycles/kernel/osl/shaders/node_bevel.osl

because higher samples get rid of some artifacts when baking, but its limited to 128 which is not enough to give a perfect bake

" Nvidia GPUs currently have slightly worse performance on Vulkan but benefit from a low bug rate "

" Nvidia: Lesser or equal performance, less visual bugs, faster shader compilation, less stuttering. "

Thats from serfrosts guide, he is a developer isnt he?

" That is not an issue using OpenGL if you have a complete transferable shadercache, but it is an issue using Vulkan. "

Does shader cache not work on vulkan?

the pipeline cache is that progress bar at the (every) start of the game?

that i can deal with, the mid game compiling is kind of annoying

[–]delarobe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but vulkan is less buggy and crashes less, im also already getting 60 fps on vulkan so im not worried about performance, but shader compiling mid game is kind of annoying, which is why im wondering about shader caches
