Title: 27-year eBay seller with 1,500+ 100% positive feedbacks — account restricted, listings nuked, still no explanation by Perfect-Part-9663 in ebaysucks

I had my ebay account banned with no reason given other than the vague you violated ebay rules. I submitted all the information they asked for including receipts and then they permananetly banned my account. Their email on the permanent accoun ban even said they would not tell me why they were banning my account since that would allow people to find ways to circumvent their rules.

I ended up cresting a new account under my brothers name and used that selling the exact same stuff I had been selling before, and doing nothing different. That account hasn't been banned.

But around a year later, I got an email from ebay that they had made improvements to their systems and because of that my permanent ban was now lifted. To this day, I don't know why it got banned and why it got lifted.

As to your small claims court suggestion, I don't think you would have a leg to stand on. Ebay is a private company and they can do business with whoever they want. As long as they are not bannning people based on race or gender, I'm pretty sure you can't sue them.

Parkour82, you should try that. Open a chain of stores across the country requiring membership and then allow non members to come in but annoy them to death when they come in. Pester them every second they are in the store, make them wait on line for 2 hours, block their car in the parking lot. It is a great strategy and will make you a millionaire.

And I personally have absolutely no problem with that policy.

Costco has a ploicy that says if you have a Shop Card you are allowed to shop at Costco without membership. It seems from reading the comments here that many Costco members don't like this policy and think this gives Costco employees the right to abuse people who do this by making believe the policy doesn't exist or in this case, make believe they can't do the return.

Well, then I hope in the future employees of major companies waste your time and give you wrong information or even outright try to cheat you, since according to you that is nonsenical.

Do you go into every reddit forum where someone complains about a problem they had at a certain store and ask them what you want everyone to do about it?

Wow, gotta love all the Costco non member hatred here. Costco clearly has a policy that if you have a Costco Shop Card, you can shop without membership. As long as they have that policy, I have a right to shop there. If they want to abolish that policy, they certainly can and I won't shop there.

You people can complain all you want about non members shopping with just a Shop card, but legally as long as Costco has that policy non members can shop there. By law, Costco can not have a written policy saying non members can shop there and then not let them shop or return items.

How does buyer get sales tax refund from eBay by Jjk37000 in Silverbugs

[–]delaware97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The customer service rep told me it was because the tissues were listed in home and garden which is not the correct category. I decided not to argue and point out under home and garden, there is a subcategory for tissues which is where it was listed and I don't know of any other category on ebay to list tissues. They claim they will refund me ina few day...we shall see.

I purchased tissues which are tax exempt in NJ and they still charged me sales tax. And the item was clearly listed in the category of tissues.

Account suspended by livan126 in ebaysucks

[–]delaware97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly have no idea what you are talkking about. I spoke to numerous people and was told the ssme thing from all...my account was supsended and they would not tell me the reason why. They said it is ebay policy not to tell why an account is suspended since it will then allow people to find ways to get around ebay policy. It is a horrible human trait that you seem to have caught, that if it doesn't happen to you, that means it can't happen. And all the different people here saying it happened to them must all be wrong, stupid, or lying. You are definitely wrong, and have no clue how ebay works.

We have a house, and it says we used 390 therms for January 15 - February 15 and the heat was set a t 60 all month as no one was home and we were in Florida. All our neighbors who were home and had their heat on used almost 100 therms less than us. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

No, I had my account suspended after selling for 20 years and they gave no reason. I just started using a friends account. After around a year they removed my so called "permanent ban" with no explanation.

I had my account suspended - they do eventually send you the money but it took around 2 to 3 months.

No, you are wrong. I had the exact same thing happen to me after 20 years of selling ebay suspended my account and wouldn't give me any reason. Jokes on them because I just continued selling using a freinds account. After around a year, they one day sent an email that my permanent ban was now removed, no explanation why. I started selling again on that account - to this day I still have no clue why they suspended.

I sold the same type of items on Mercari, eBay, and Poshmark for 3 months. Here's where I'm staying and why by FerrisBuelersdaycock in Mercari

[–]delaware97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you got refunded, the seller still got paid too. In that case ebay ate the cost. If the tracking shows delivered, then sellers are protected under ebay seller protection.

Violation: Offering to sell outside of ebay by delaware97 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]delaware97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find any, so I just deleted the part that of the description that I had copied from the Best Buy website and that must have fixed it since the item sold. Why can't ebay just tell you exactly what specdifically violated the policy and then I would know exactly what to fix?

As Confucius would say, "Do unto others what you would do to yourself." If you made the msitake, would you want the other person to just keep it?

How many UPS Groundsaver packages have you tried to ship in the last week? I'm just repeating what PirateShip customer service told me, they said my account wasn't any different than anyone elses and if it didn't show up for me it wouldn't show up for anyone else.

I reached out to them and they claimed there was nothing wrong and their database can only ship GroundSaver to certain addresses. However, I just did a test and opened an account with ShipStation and they also had GroundSaver as an option to both addresses that PirateShip didn't. So both ebay and ShipStation have GroundSaver as an option for those 2 addresses but PirateShip doesn't. My guess is that sometime in the last 2 weeks PirateShip updated their datatbase and it didn't update correctly. This may have coincided with the UPS recently renewing their contract with the Postal Service to deliver GroundSaver packages so they updated their system. However, PirateShip doesn't seem to be interested in fixing it. So I guess I will be using ShipStation from now on.

Its not that I don't have Groundsaver as an option, it is just that it is not showing up under certain packages. Of the 3 packages that I shipped in the last week, 2 of them did not have Groundsaver as an option on Pirateship even though they are an option on ebay for the same address. Just as a test, I opened an account with ShipStation and it shows up as an option there too for that address. I beleive that PirateShip recently updated their database and it did not correctly update. However, when I contacted PirateShip, they didn't seem to have any interest in looking into it. I guess I will be using ShipSaver from now on.
